Gandanta points are transitions between water and fire signs in Vedic astrology. These are 29 degrees Pisces to 0 degrees Aries, 29 degrees Scorpio to 0 degrees Sagittarius, and 29 degrees Cancer to 0 degrees Leo. These points are associated with a lack of boundaries, specifically the boundary from the earthly to spiritual realm. Thus having one or more of these points is extremely favourable for tremendous spiritual growth and progress in this lifetime, cutting through the veil of maya and having a profound transformation that impacts your life and the lives of many people around you both directly and indirectly. It makes a person intuitive, mystical, and more connected with subtle energy. It is an exclusive door into another dimension, and powerful for spiritual discernment. To give an example, Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, had Mercury at 29 degrees Scorpio in Jyestha nakshatra. These illuminating times of boundary crossing into increased wisdom can be predicted when an outer planet such as Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, or Jupiter make a close transiting aspect to the gandanta point. At this time, the person will have a chance to untie the knots of karma that leads them to a major breakthrough in consciousness level. However the process can be linked with considerable trauma, struggle, and upheaval, maybe even a dark night of the soul.

![]() A hearty congratulations to Leonardo DiCaprio for his Best Actor win at the Oscars this past Sunday! He’s been one of my favourite actors for years, and with every performance takes himself to new heights of excellence. Many of his past performances were certainly deserving of the Oscar win, yet as a mystery to many, and despite being nominated six times, his first win was just this past Sunday (Saturn in its detriment Cancer and retrograde in his 10th house tends to make his recognition overdue). However, Saturn in the 10th does eventually reward hard work and perseverance. It was only Sunday that the stars were aligned perfectly to bring out the big win. In Leo’s chart we see a tremendous natal promise for success, power, glory, happiness and riches. On Sunday, the planets in the sky activated this natal promise and brought him a dream come true. The natal promise for fame can be seen many times in his chart. He has four planets in the 1st house and Saturn in the 10th house, and numerous aspects and connections between the 1st house and 10th house. Saturn in the 10th house is the lead planet of his locomotive shaped chart, showing a significantly high importance placed on career and public standing. These influences serve to bring him awards and accolades in his career and cause people to admire him in a professional sense.
I have noticed for a long time that actors/ actresses tend to get the highest personal recognition for roles that are a reflection of their natal chart, that is the role touches a part of their true personality. In the Revenant, Leo plays a character named Hugh Glass, a frontiersman that is brutally attacked by a bear, is found by his hunting team in critical condition but they purposely leave him for dead in the wilderness. The movie details his struggle for survival, his quest to find his attacker and ultimately what he does when he gets the opportunity to get even. Leo has Pluto as the closest planet to the ascendant making a five degree conjunction. His Sun, Mars, part of fortune, and Venus are in Scorpio, ruled by Pluto. He has Neptune conjunct Antares, a royal fixed star giving the nature of Mars (traditional ruler of Scorpio). Antares is a violent star, is a warrior and will fight to survive. These influences of Antares, Mars, Pluto and Scorpio produce a survivor, one that can go to extreme lengths to overcome severe obstacles and emerge victorious. Pluto puts the focus on death, transformation, healing and rebirth. While he didn’t die, his close brush with death, subsequent seeking for revenge, and ultimate choice to let go produced a transformation, one in which he is able to surrender the ultimate fate of his attacker to God. This caused a healing within him, otherwise his attacker would continue to control his emotions for the rest of his life, even if he was dead. When Scorpio gets mad, there is a tendency to get even, to wait months and even years for the perfect time to get revenge, the scorpion part. However another symbol for Scorpio is the eagle, this is the higher part of Scorpio which masters the art of surrender, to forgive attackers and let go of negative emotion trusting that a higher power will right the wrongs and punish one’s attackers. Mars is the warrior, is vital, energetic and will passionately fight to survive. It represents courage, bravery, strength of will, and the thrill of persevering and succeeding despite the odds and in rough circumstances. The Revenant is very graphic, at one point showing Hugh carving out an animal’s insides so he can stay warm inside its body in the extreme cold. We see every emotion on his face as he battles the loneliness, the isolation, the betrayal of his teammates, and the harsh elements. Leo’s moon conjunct Pluto in the 1st house helps him convincingly convey the obsession, compulsion, intensity, drama, fear, sense of abandonment/ betrayal and primal survival instinct of this character. It’s no surprise to me that he won in 2016 in a number 9 year (2+0+1+6=9), as 9 vibrates to Pluto and Mars, and puts the world’s attention on fighting, betrayal and forgiveness. Planetary indicators of Leo’s best actor win on February 28th 2016 We will start by looking at the 1st and 10th houses because to have an event that increases fame and fortune, and puts one further into the limelight, we have to look to the most public houses. The MC is 3 degrees Cancer, and the ruler of the 10th house is the Moon at 15 degrees Libra. The dispositor of the Moon is Venus at 19 degrees Scorpio. Saturn at 18 degrees Cancer sits in the 10th house. The ascendant is 3 degrees Libra, ruler Venus is at 19 degrees Scorpio and dispositor Pluto is at 8 degrees Libra. Mercury and Uranus are conjunct at 29 degrees Libra in the first house. Thus we look to tight aspects (less than 3 degrees) from the transiting planets to those points. Transits Transiting Pluto at 16 degrees 53 minutes Capricorn tightly squares the Moon in the 1st house and makes a sextile to Venus. Pluto opposes Saturn. Transiting Neptune at 9 degrees 30 minutes Pisces makes an exact biquintile to the Moon in the 1st house. Neptune makes a quincunx to Pluto Transiting Uranus at 18 degrees 15 minutes Aries opposes the Moon in his 1st house. It makes a quincunx to Venus. Uranus makes an exact square to Saturn in the 10th house. Transiting Saturn at 15 degrees 52 minutes Sagittarius makes an exact square to the Moon in the 1st house. Tr Saturn makes a quincunx to Saturn in the 10th house. Tr Saturn makes an exact quintile to the ascendant at 3 degrees Libra. Saturn makes a semisquare to Mercury and Uranus in the 1st house. Transiting Jupiter at 19 degrees 22 minutes Virgo makes an exact sextile to Venus. Jupiter squares Saturn in the 10th house. Transiting Mars at 27 degrees 42 minutes Scorpio makes an exact biquintile to the MC at 3 degrees Cancer. Mars makes a semisquare to the Moon in the 1st house. Mars makes a semisextile to Mercury and Uranus in the 1st house. Transiting Venus at 14 degrees 47 minutes Aquarius trines the Moon in the 1st house. Transiting Mercury at 21 degrees 30 minutes Aquarius makes a sesquiquadrate to the MC. Mercury squares Venus. Mercury makes a quincunx to Saturn. Mercury makes a sesquiquadrate to Pluto. Transiting Sun at 9 degrees 58 minutes Pisces makes an exact biquintile to the Moon in the 1st house. Sun makes a quincunx to Pluto. Transiting Moon at 19 degrees Scorpio makes a sesquiquadrate to the MC. Moon makes an exact conjunction to Venus. Moon makes a trine to Saturn. Moon makes a semisquare to the ascendant. ![]() Solar Return 2015/2016 His solar return for November 11th 2015 which is in effect until his birthday in 2016 shows that Jupiter is conjunct the part of fortune and both are conjunct the SR ascendant. The POF is also a traditional indicator of success, and especially when found conjunct with Jupiter and the ascendant can bring prosperity directly to the individual. In addition, the North Node, Mars and Venus are in the 1st house, often when there is a lot of emphasis on the 1st house in the SR chart, the person becomes more noticeable to the public, is able to present themselves in a better light, and it is easier to gain positive recognition for their efforts. Venus being in its own sign Libra is a bonus for added charm and sophistication in presentation. Mercury rules the 1st and 10th houses in the SR return, creating that link for added fame, moreover it is conjunct the Sun which makes it very prominent in this year’s activities. Mercury is also conjunct the Moon which rules the 11th house of dreams, large organizations and peers. This will be a year when his peers in the industry in the formal, longstanding organization of the Oscars will finally grant him a dream come true. Progressed chart for February 28th 2016 By progression, natal Mars sits on the progressed ascendant at critical degree 9 Scorpio, again very favourable for garnering recognition and awards for one’s efforts. Progressed Mars at 9 degrees Sagittarius, also conjunct Neptune and the North Node is exactly conjunct Antares, one of the four Royal stars of Persia, the 15th brightest star in the sky. Ebertin said “Antares makes people tough, belligerent and pugnacious. This is an important star for military personnel, it is said to convey mental alertness, strategic ability and courage to make daredevils”(1). This seems like a perfect way to describe Leo’s character’s tenacious struggle for survival in The Revenant. Conclusion As we can see, there was a lot of cosmic energy on February 28th favouring Leo’s big win. The aspects that became exact helped to pinpoint the exact day of the promise coming to fruition. Especially worth noting is seven of the planets (Sun and Moon are commonly referred to planets in astrology) make an aspect to the Moon which is the strongest connector of the 1st and 10th houses, (Moon rules the 10th house and is placed in the 1st house). So what is the takeaway message of this story? I believe it is another powerful illustration of the popular belief that an important event is destined to occur “when the stars align”. At this time, no one and nothing can stop your destiny. Leo didn’t get upset all these years and insult the Academy for not awarding him, rather he kept an expectant attitude of faith, knowing that what was due to him would come. Regardless of how things look now or have looked in the past, if something is promised to you, you will be given the opportunities and recognition due to you at exactly the correct time, and not a day before! References 1. https://darkstarastrology.com/antares/ Being in a number 9 world year, forgiveness is the dominant theme. Its a year of endings and we don't want to carry any negative residual energy into a new cycle. I love how T.D Jakes says forgiveness is not an emotion, its a decision. There is nothing spiritual about not speaking up and taking appropriate action when someone, or a group of people does something wrong to you. Change on a societal level can only happen when individuals have the courage to stand up for their rights. For change to occur on a personal level, the person who hurts you should know how you feel so that they can choose not to do it again, and perhaps the relationship can become stronger going forward. But once you do what you needed to do, make the conscious decision to let these careless and sometimes malicious words and actions out of your heart. At times it can be tempting emotionally to dwell in the low levels of consciousness such as anger, revenge, fear, and grief. However, replaying the same mind movies of how someone unfairly treated you only drains your vitality and ability to focus on teachings and activities that will take you to new heights on your spiritual journey. Due to the universal law of karma, people who did wrong actions and never atoned for them will be held liable, and they will reap what they sowed. God can make up for all that you have lost in an instant and restore you to where you are meant to be, but only if you are able to let the resentment out of your heart. When you don't forgive others you are blocking the shower of blessings on your own life. I recommend watching this whole video but if you are short on time, here are some particularly powerful portions from his sermon: "Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. It is not saying you were right to hit me, its not saying that we are going to do this contract together, its not saying we are going to form this partnership, its not saying I'm so weak I'm going to let you run over top of me, those are all different issues. But it is saying I can not afford to put this much energy into being angry with you. I can not afford to let it be that every single time you walk in the room I'm upset with you. That is too much energy to put into a direction that I am no longer going. So when I forgive you, its not about you, its about me, I cut the cord between me and you so that I can be free and you can be crazy!" At 55 min 30sec ''Forgiveness is not about weakness, its about me getting control back in my life. Its about me no longer being vulnerable to your behaviour, and what you did and what you said, and every time I see you, you elicit a response out of me, means that you are controlling me and its about me getting control back in my life so that I can see you and you don't change my mood. Because as long as you effect my mood, that means that my thermostat is in your room and I have to live with wherever you set the dial. But when I forgive you I bring the control back into my room so that I don't know how you are feeling over there but its fine over here!" --At 1 hour 2 min ![]() The world year is descriptive of the trends and energies the world as a collective will face in any given year. To calculate this number, we add the digits of the current year, 2+0+1+6 = 9. Number 9 is the last in the 9 year cycle and that is why it is a year of endings. The transition between a 9 year and a 1 year is the most significant in the cycle as it indicates a closing of one chapter and the starting of a fresh one. It is the right time to reflect upon what began in your life in 2008, and how far you have come with respect to it. Having a sense of closure with whatever you have achieved is really important. Number 9 represents the theme of forgiveness, to make amends with those you have wronged or to forgive those who have hurt you will purify your energy and help you push your best self forward into the next 9 year cycle. The number 9 energy favours wrapping up old issues, regrets, and heartbreaks, and finally laying them to rest. Regardless of the other person’s response, if you make a sincere effort to forgive or to be forgiven in 2016, you will get better results than usual, and feel more peaceful as a result. In a 9 year, our original family plays a larger role in our lives, as we see how they have uniquely shaped us into who we are today. Memories of growing up, old friends, loved ones who passed away, and things we did for fun when younger make a comeback. Since the themes of original family and forgiveness are intertwined, it is an especially good time to make amends with family members you have been at odds with, even if you haven’t spoken with them in many years. Speak your truth because opening up the channels of communications can truly cause miracles to occur: as Pluto vibrates to 9, a profound healing and transformation can take place if you open your heart to it. Barriers can be broken down and relationships restored stronger than ever before. Number 9 has an energy of teaching to it, and you don’t have to be a teacher in a formal sense to do this. Make an effort this year to share your knowledge and expertise with those who could benefit from it, and especially those younger to you. If you are so inclined, you may write an article or book, conduct classes, or make videos to communicate your knowledge. Volunteering in a 9 year is particularly enjoyable, as the feeling of giving back creates good karma and gives a sense of completion. In fact giving of all kinds is favoured, as it plants good seeds for the next cycle. You may gain a sense of fulfillment in volunteering with people or causes in need of assistance overseas. As both Mars and Pluto, the warrior planets correspond to 9, you could be energized to fight for what you believe in, to uphold your values regardless of how powerful your competitor appears to be. Seeing people, especially those who are disadvantaged, being treated unfairly will light a collective fire to do something to correct the situation. Action is a keyword for both Mars and Pluto so making a positive change in your immediate surroundings and even the world is important, and global issues take on increased prominence. If enough people take action, societal breakthroughs can more easily occur in 2017, a pioneering number 1 year. The vibration of 9 helps us think of people from all over the world as our neighbors and to see how we are all interconnected. Learning about foreign cultures and lifestyles expands our horizons in 2016. I have an upcoming online webinar I am delighted to be presenting through Kepler College, "Finding your soulmate with Astronumerology". The art and science of Astronumerology involves the skill of blending the principles of Astrology and Numerology to arrive at a comprehensive and accurate assessment of personality, relationship compatibility and life trends. By using these tools we are better able to understand ourselves and other people on a deeper level. This enhanced understanding leads to more intimacy and forgiveness in interpersonal relationships. Astronumerology can help you answer questions about the compatibility of romantic partners. Does the pair sizzle or fizzle? Do both people bring out the best in one another? What are the inherent relationship dynamics between the two? Is the pair better off as friends? What is the karma and overall purpose of the relationship? Will the relationship be long lasting? Is the relationship well-suited for marriage? Getting the answers to these questions helps us to better understand, work with, and make the best use of the natural energies of the relationship. In this class, I intend to answer these questions and will go over the best and worst romantic and marriage indicators as seen from the principles of Astrology and Numerology. I hope that you are able to join me for this exciting class. You will also notice that for the year, you temporarily take on the characteristics of your personal year number. For example, in a personal year 7 many people find themselves doing a lot of writing, studying, teaching and/or contemplating. They may spend more time alone, in philosophical/ spiritual pursuits or in nature. Research, analysis, problem solving and investigation are favored.
Based on your personal year, different numbers affect you in different months and weeks of the year. This makes certain feelings, experiences and trends more prevalent in one month over the other and from one week to the other. The Numerology forecast “Your Destiny in Numbers” takes a variety of number energies into account to provide you with a glimpse into the upcoming week. Forecast for the week of September 4th Personal year calculation= your birth month (1=January, 2=February… 12= December) + your birthday + current year Example: A person born July 16th would add 7 (July) + 16 and 8 (2+0+1+5) = 4. Their personal year is 4. Personal year 1 September is a month for new beginnings. This is a good time to take action on plans that have been in the works for a while, just go for it! Personal year 2 Partnership and team oriented activities are favoured. Going to a social or networking event has potential to yield an important new contact. Personal year 3 September brings a creative boost for you! Take classes designed to draw out your imagination or that encourage you to expand your philosophical outlook. Personal year 4 September allows the energy of efficiency, dedication and responsibility to enter your life. Work that requires detail orientation and concentration goes better than expected. Personal year 5 September favours communication, learning, studying, teaching, debating and any other activity where you are discussing ideas. Writing pieces for publication or private journaling are good activities this week. Personal year 6 Spend quality time with your family and participate in fun activities with them. You may also be in the mood for shopping for new clothes or re-decorating your home. Personal year 7 September should be a month of reflection, meditation and personal study. You benefit from spending time by yourself and thinking upon subjects that are important to you. Personal year 8 September brings added responsibility and perhaps a promotion, award or positive recognition in some area of life. This is a good week for buying luxury items. Personal year 9 You will benefit from volunteering your time to those who need it or by spending time with young people. Trust your intuition when it comes to interactions with children. It was a great night yesterday evening (Thurs Sept 3rd) for my lecture on Jupiter's blessings in your natal chart. Excellent philosophical discussion and food for thought. Maybe this was because there was a strong Jupiter energy- Thursday is Jupiter's day and number 3 vibrates to Jupiter!

In my last post of the year 2014, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of my readers, clients and students for following my blog and perusing my website, I hope you found the information relevant and helpful to you in your daily life.
Christmas is my favourite holiday because as the saying goes "blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love". We celebrate the inspiring life of Jesus Christ and regardless of our religion we share His love with those around us. Christmas is a season of hope and generosity because all around the world, people think of those less fortunate and make the tangible effort to brighten their lives. Often one simple gift or gesture is all that is needed to turn an otherwise hopeless Christmas for a family in need into one of the most beautifully memorable. For a season, the interconnection of all people around the world comes into sharp focus as we seek to help those around the world who need it the most. We are reminded of all that we have to be grateful for and it really is quite awe inspiring all of the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Universally, people are hopeful with regards to the New Year and dream of what fortunes are in store for them, after all only those who dare to dream can make a dream come true! There is a quote that has been hanging on a plaque on my bedroom wall for several years, it is a quote by Joseph Campbell saying "We must be willing to get rid of the life we have planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us". As the years have gone by, not everything I planned for came to fruition in the way I wanted it to or sometimes it didn't come at all. But as I look back on my journey thus far, I can see how every experience is a small piece of the puzzle and I recognize that we aren't meant to see the completed picture all at once. It is the same Divine mind that created the universe that guides us to be at exactly the right place and with the right people to give us the opportunity to learn the life lessons we most need to at that time. What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good? Perhaps you have misunderstood his plan, for He would never offer pain to you. But your defenses did not let you see His loving blessing shine in every step you ever took. While you made plans for death, He led you gently to eternal life. -A Course in Miracles While taking responsibility for learning my life lessons, I have immense faith that the plan is unfolding just the way it needs to be. I am grateful for all the people and experiences in my life whether "good" or "bad" because they all have led me to who I am now and uniquely equip me to make a difference in the world that only I am able to make. If you take a moment to look back on your unique challenges, I know you will realize that if you never met that "horrible person" or underwent that "brutal" experience, you would have never developed the ability to touch someone's heart in a way that only surviving your trial allowed you. As Elizabeth Kubler Ross observed "beautiful people do not just happen", they have come through the dark night of the soul and emerged with a new-found compassion and enlightened understanding that allows their light to shine from within. From that perspective, I hope that 2015 brings you just enough sadness and tears to help you cherish the indescribable joy that comes from touching someone's heart the way that only you can. From my family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with love, joy, peace and happiness! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to present an Introduction to Astronumerology webinar at Kepler College. If you were listening, I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to doing more webinars in the future. Outline: Each Astrological sun sign covers a period of one month and has classical characteristics assigned to it. However, we have all noticed some people in our lives, possibly even ourselves, who don’t seem to “fit” the personality of their sign. Have you ever wondered about the reasons for these differences? “My friend Jake is a Leo, but he hates the spotlight. Why isn’t he more attention loving and outgoing?” “Sarah is a Scorpio but she is so friendly and light. I thought that all Scorpios are supposed to be intense and mysterious?” Or maybe you don’t feel typical of your sun sign? “I’m a Gemini but I’m not one for making conversation”. There are many reasons for the variation in personality between sun signs and a major one is Numerology. There are nine different number archetypes that modify the sun sign by adding its vibration in shaping personality. In this webinar, Samantha will give an overview of what Numerology is and how it plays a significant part in our personality characteristics. She will then introduce listeners to Astronumerology by discussing how we can use this ancient science in maximizing our potential in everyday life: What is Astronumerology? How does learning about Astronumerology help me gain better self- understanding? How can I use Astronumerology to improve my relationships with family and friends? How can I use Astronumerology in selecting the right lover or spouse for me? How can I use Astronumerology to help me gain fulfillment in my career? How does Astronumerology provide insight into future trends and energies in my life? You may register for this webinar now at http://www.kepler.edu/home/index.php/events/246-free-webinars/551-nov-22-astronumerology It is widely believed that on Halloween, the separation between the living and the dead is the thinnest, and psychic sensitivity for communication between the two worlds is at its highest of the year. To celebrate Halloween, the holiday of remembering and honouring the dearly departed, I want to analyze the chart of the highly gifted spiritual medium and clairvoyant, James Van Praagh. He communicates messages between the living and the dead, easily shifting between the two worlds. He is a world renowned spiritual medium and clairvoyant who has achieved success with his numerous New York Times bestselling books, TV and radio show appearances, hosting his own radio show, and co- producing the hit show “Ghost Whisperer”. His website is http://www.vanpraagh.com/ Astrology Moon conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius in the 12th house. Saturn is the chart ruler and its being placed in the 12th house will make 12th house activities a major focus of interest. In addition since the 1st house governs our appearance and how we appear to people on first impression, people will likely sense that there is something “otherworldly” about him. Saturn is stationary and therefore brings the significantly enhanced capacity for the goal setting, discipline and perseverance that was critical in him writing so many books and having such an active schedule filled with media interviews and teaching, and of course to promote work based on 12th house activities. Planets in the 12th house give more power to 12th house themes such as sensitivity to otherworldly realms and the potential to have fewer mental barriers between the “real and unreal”. These people will see things when they believe them and are visionaries. For example, James often sees things about people but they do not become apparent until years later, he admits it is an inexact science but the abilities he does have can still help people immensely. For example, he told Barbara Walters that she would have some problems regarding blood flow in hear heart after doing her talk show in 2008. Barbara went to the doctor and she said the doctor cleared her of any trouble. She later called James “dangerous” on her show and questioned his abilities. In 2010, it became public knowledge that Barbara needed a heart surgery due to a faulty valve (1). The Moon is exceptionally well integrated and prominent: It is making nine aspects with every one of the planets, is angular (conjunct the Asc 4d) and is sextile the North Node 1d. The Moon represents emotions, feeling, intuition, security, natural instinct, gut reactions, moods, imagination and deeper thoughts that can’t be expressed in words. His depth and range of emotion is very impressive and when the moon is so prominent, it is a sign of psychic ability and receptivity to hidden knowledge. The sextile to the North Node shows that these qualities are beneficial for his soul’s evolution and spiritual growth. Ruler of the 12th house Jupiter is conjunct Neptune (ruler of the 3rd house) and the North Node in the 10th house (career). This combination is a direct reflection of James’s successful career combining communications with spiritual mediumship. The connection of these houses and planets with the North Node show that these activities are oriented towards his spiritual growth as a person and that he is in alignment with his soul’s purpose. Notably, James has the N. Node in a partile conjunction with the MC! The North Node conjunct the MC is one of the most fortunate places for it to be, inclining the person towards leadership, confidence, prominence, fame and riches (2). He has a degree in communications and broadcasting from San Francisco State University. James has been on several radio and talk shows including: Larry King Live, the Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Today, Entertainment Tonight, the Insider, 20/20, 48 Hours, Unsolved Mysteries, A&E’s Mediums: We See Dead People, John Edward Cross Country, and many more. In 2002, he produced and hosted his own syndicated show, Beyond with James Van Praagh. He was also co-executive producer of the CBS-TV hit drama, Ghost Whisperer, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt (3). He has a talk radio show on Hay House Radio titled “Talking to spirit with James Van Praagh” where he answers listener’s questions. He has numerous books including New York Times Bestsellers “Talking to Heaven”, Ghosts Among Us, Reaching to Heaven, Healing Grief, Heaven and Earth, Looking Beyond, and Meditations With James Van Praagh. These books have been translated in many languages (3). His skill for creative self- expression, interest in the entertainment industry and penchant for drama likely stems from his chart shape being a locomotive with lead planet Mars. Mars is exactly conjunct the 5th house cusp. He excels at self- promotion and Mars gives him the considerable ambition, drive and courage to act on his dreams. He has 9 planets in the South hemisphere, further emphasizing his love of the spotlight. His success in communications is also partly due to the fact that Mercury is conjunct fixed star Regulus in the 8th house, is retrograde and is exact on the 8th house midpoint. Regulus is the most benefic star and is traditionally thought to bring glory, riches and fame (4) in the area of life of the planet’s domain that it conjuncts. Mercury represents eloquence of the spoken and written word as well as broadcasting so naturally James has found incredible success in this area. Mercury is also retrograde and this influence causes a person to be very introspective, analytical and notice subtle things that other people often miss (5). They also have a rare depth of nonverbal understanding (5). I have found Mercury retrograde in many talented and famous authors. In his chart the 8th house is very prominent and powerful. There are 5 planets here, including the ruler of the 8th house (Sun) and Pluto’s qualities are able to work in their best form as it tenants its natural house. In addition, his chart signature is Scorpio, Scorpio is the natural sign of the 8th house and shares the same characteristics. The 8th house governs all types of occult, esoteric subjects, knowledge that is only available to a select few. Notable family legacies are probable with a strong 8th house and in fact there is a history of esoteric ability in his family- his grandmother on his father’s side read tea leaves, his grandmother on his mother’s side was psychic and his sister can see spirits that show up in photos (6). The 8th house represents death, secrets, and transformation; very fitting as James tells the living person secrets that only the dead person would have known. He also communicates things that the dead person wants the living person to know but maybe never told them when they were living. This knowledge can have a transformational effect on the living person, perhaps giving them closure or changing the course of their lives. We see that the ruler of the tenth house Venus is conjunct the 8th house cusp exact and also conjunct the vertex. There is a link showing that these 8th house matters will play a direct role in his career and reputation and that this is destined to occur (vertex). Venus is at critical degree 9 Leo giving it extra sensitivity and command. In fact, his first experience with a medium was not intentional but as it turned out was a critical part of his destiny and turning point in his life. After moving to L.A because he was promised a job, he learned that wasn’t the case and ended up having to take a temporary job. A lady he worked with recommended he see a medium. He told her he didn’t really believe in those things but saw the man to humour her. The medium told him as soon as he walked in the door "You, you're a psychic, you're a medium. In two years’ time, they're going to give you messages and help you communicate." James was very impressed and started reading and meditating, soon after he began seeing auras like he did when he was a kid (6). It was 2 years later to the exact day when he saw a lady behind a girl at the counter, he began to describe her to the girl and the girl freaked out because James was describing her grandmother in a very specific way: "There's a lady behind you and she's telepathically giving me thoughts about a house in Idaho, a yellow house with white shutters and a needlepoint" (6). Another aspect connected with his destiny is Mercury conjunct Sun and Pluto in the 8th house. Sun conjunct Pluto is an aspect bestowing the potential to heal others, the individual can inspire others toward their own transformation. With Mercury also conjunct it suggests that the healing will be done through the oral/ written form. This is an aspect giving potential to be a thought leader and a desire to have a deep and lasting impact on people’s lives. Through his magnetism and willpower, the individual is often successful in that goal. Eight planets are in the water houses. The water houses represent emotional intelligence, imagination, the depth and range of emotions as well as your ability to be empathetic to people. People who have many planets in water houses often report that they are clairvoyant, have psychic visions and extremely vivid dreams. They are extremely sensitive to the energy of people (auras) and places. In fact, when James was a child he reported that he frequently saw lights around people (auras) and angels at the edge of his bed (6). Even as an adult he still can see auras and spirits (6). The show Ghost Whisperer is partly based on his own life- the lead character can communicate with spirits that have passed into the light (6). Neptune is very well integrated, making 7 aspects to the planets, is conjunct the North Node 7d and is square the vertex 9d. Neptune is the planet representing clairvoyance, dreams, visions, psychic ability, imagination, mediumship and spirituality. Neptune is the ruler of his third house of communications and is placed in the tenth house- we can observe a great influence of Neptune on the topics and quality of his communication both orally and written. Moreover, these communications are directly linked to his career. Numerology James’ expression, personality and intensity numbers are 1. The first letter of his first name is J which also is 1. I think that he has set himself apart in the field of mediumship with his ambitious, enterprising and entrepreneurial spirit. He has created a brand with all of his books, and his radio and TV show. He is definitely a thought leader and constantly comes up with exciting and innovative ways to relate his messages to people. He is very independent and cherishes his freedom, he would hate to be tied down in a routine because he can become bored quite easily. James’ soul urge and life path numbers are 9. This number is reflected in his ability as a healer and teacher. He has written a book specifically devoted to healing titled “Healing Grief, Reclaiming Life after any Loss”, this book became a New York Times bestseller. He hosts formal spirit healing circles which give people a sense of peace and trigger new insights. As mentioned before, his ability to relate messages between worlds and between loved ones does help give closure to people still living. These messages could transform the way they live and help heal old wounds. Number 9 is emotionally sensitive and is very compassionate towards people. James certainly displays these characteristics when helping people deal with their grief. James teaches mediumship classes/ workshops in which he helps a diverse group of people develop their skills of relating to the spirit world, the mechanics of mediumship, trance states, learning about one’s guides and protecting yourself from harmful energies among other topics (7). James’ birthday number is 5. Five is Mercury’s number and is reflective of his eloquence in relating his experiences and knowledge with the public. Through his popular books, mediumship classes and various media enterprises, he has taught people a lot about mediumship and clairvoyance. He is very versatile, concurrently getting involved in many different ventures. At the time of one interview when asked about whether he has any projects going on, he replied that he was working on his show Psych Out, he was developing different TV shows, he had a Halloween special, and was working on 3 different books (6). He hosts cruises to spiritual destinations worldwide and travels the world to teach and lecture (8), illustrating this number’s love of adventure, foreign cultures and people. Have a bewitching Halloween!! References 1.http://www.accesshollywood.com/james-van-praagh-on-barbara-walters-she-owes-me-an-apology_article_32255 2.Teal, C. (2008). With such a prestigious position to fill, I would expect that this must be an unusually powerful and unusual chart. Indeed, I see that this chart is of a King who will definitely make an admirable and longstanding impact on the global scale!!!
Astrology There is an enormously significant Pluto/ Scorpio influence in this chart: 1. The ascendant is at 27 degrees Scorpio. 2. The eighth house is the natural house of Pluto and Scorpio. There is an eighth house stellium: Sun, Mercury, Mars Jupiter, and Vertex. 3. The eighth house ruler Mercury is in the house, adding extra strength to this powerhouse. 4. Pluto makes 6 aspects to the planets, ( 4d opposition to Jupiter, 4d opposition to Mercury, 5d sextile to Saturn, 3d square to Uranus, 4d opposition to Mars, 5d sextile to Neptune), an exact opposition to the Vertex and a 3d sextile to the North Node. 5. The 12th house and 1st house cusps, Saturn and the North Node are all in Scorpio, adding even more to the strength of the Scorpio influence. I can confidently say that the traits of Scorpio and Pluto will be fiercely potent in the Prince. This Pluto/ Scorpio influence focuses on transformation, intense/ extreme experiences, secrets, inherited wealth, powerful legacies, mysteries, interest in the occult, sex, death and rebirth. This shows an individual who is very mysterious, complicated and deep, what you see is definitely not what you get. There will be a lot of things going on under the surface, and the prince is likely to never tell anyone about them. The Pluto/Zeus midpoint is on the ascendant at 27 Scorpio as well. With no doubt, he will be a powerful physical presence, with an intense gaze, an air of mystery and charm and he will have an extreme sexual appeal. He will do nothing half way, always preferring all or nothing scenarios. Be careful not to wrong him, he won’t get mad, he will get even with the famous Scorpio sting! The aforementioned eighth house stellium planets are in Cancer and they are intercepted. Cancer is also the chart signature and therefore its traits will be very strong in the Prince. These planets in Cancer will give the tendency for the Prince to be home loving, family oriented, hospitable, sensitive, nurturing, patriotic, a tenacious protector of loved ones, have an excellent memory and be sentimental. However, Cancer people can also be moody, passive aggressive, slow to forget past hurts, take things too personally, withdrawn and indirect. Mercury is at 13 Cancer, a critical degree. Mercury represents the way we think and communicate, our expressive style. This critical degree suggests that he will have very high emotional intelligence and be an excellent listener. He can “feel” the emotions behind what people say and can tell whether they are being sincere or tricking him! Chart ruler Pluto in Capricorn is intercepted in the second house. The Moon in Capricorn is also intercepted in the house. The chart ruler represents first impressions and the way we look at the world. It is people’s perceptions of us when they don’t know us that well. When the chart ruler is intercepted, it could be that other people forcefully try to “tone down” the person or that the person feels they cannot act naturally in front of others for the sake of keeping up a proper appearance. Since the moon is intercepted in Capricorn, it gives the tendency to repress emotions and “keep a straight face” in all situations. The person feels they have a duty and obligation to always be strong and calm. Mars is out of bounds at 23 degrees 54 minutes. For more information on out of bounds planets, click here. When Mars goes out of bounds, the person has a lot of added masculine energy and testosterone. It can make them extra competitive, aggressive or assertive, having talent for high energy contact sports, enjoying high risk activities such as skydiving, bull riding, create desire for high power and status and have strong will and determination. They will not hesitate to fight for their personal rights or the rights of loved ones if something is not fair. Mars conjunct Jupiter within eight minutes is this chart’s closest aspect. This gives a lot of enthusiasm, vigor, optimism and confidence when expressing ideas. These people are entrepreneurial in spirit, willing to take calculated risks and put all their energy into their pursuits. They always have the belief that they will succeed and because our thoughts create our reality, they create success most of the time! Good channels for expressing this naturally high vitality and sense of adventure would be travel and healthy competition. Cardinal sign focus: 7 planets in cardinal signs. This abundance of cardinal signs suggests someone who has a lot of leadership ability. People look up to them because they are talented at assigning people tasks that make the best use of their natural skills. They are excellent at coming up with innovative, fresh ideas and starting the ball rolling on plans. They won’t wait for something to happen, they create their own opportunities. Dominant house modality: succedent- is a nice complement to the cardinal sign focus. The succedent influence adds the stick to it power, the follow through on plans and ambitions after the initial innovative ideas. Gives strength of will, determination and perseverance. Water element focus: 6 planets in water signs. Emotions and feelings run very deep for someone with a water focus. They experience a very wide range of emotions and can be quick to change them. Water people are sensitive, empathetic, intuitive, and good listeners. They have the ability to read nonverbal language especially well and “feel” what other people feel. Chart shape: Splay- Points to diverse skills, interests and hobbies. These people like to have a lot of variety in their activities. 9/ 10 of the planets are in feminine signs- Gives the tendencies toward introversion, sensitivity, thoughtfulness, quietness, gentleness. Saturn makes 7 aspects with the other planets and a 1d semisquare to the MC. Saturn is very well integrated in his psyche. This makes him disciplined, ambitious, determined, a hard worker, strict, authoritative, and responsible. However, on the negative side so many Saturn aspects can put a lot of obstacles in his path, make him too rigid, pessimistic, put up too many boundaries in addition to being too faultfinding and serious. Numerology According to the Prince's birth certificate, his name is George Alexander Louis (1). We do not count "His Royal Highness" or "of Cambridge" as that is part of a general world title, only personal names are included in the analysis. For information on how to calculate the core numbers and a description of each number please click here Birthday number: His birthday is on the 22nd of the month. Number 22 is a master number and is termed the master builder. It is the number of the visionary leader- a person who sees things that are far ahead of the time in which they live and because of the secondary 4 influence, has the willpower and determination to make sure these visions are practically implemented into the real world. These projects can include special buildings, humanitarian organizations, large scale movements, the possibilities are endless. There is a very strong inner ambition to make his mark on the world and live up to the high potential of this number. There is an enormous reservoir of creative genius just waiting to be used! Life path number of 8: With a life path of number 8, power, status, worldly success, wealth and control are very important to him. The Prince will be very aware of his position within the hierarchy and be very comfortable in a position of authority and leadership. Soul urge number of 1 and expression number of 1: With this double influence of 1, the Prince has enormous leadership ability and wants to be the best at what he does. He is very independent in thought and action and will no doubt be a trailblazer. He will be competitive by nature, and enjoy the thrill of the chase. He will enjoy doing things on his own and autonomy is essential. There is a great strength of will and determination to succeed at all the goals he sets for himself. However on the negative side he may be too bossy at times and become self centered and selfish. Personality number of 9: With a personality number of 9, other people view him as having a global view and being interested in humanitarian efforts. He will be helpful and generous with people and they will come to him for advice. Other people will see him as a broad minded and tolerant person who is interested in being fair to everyone. Number 9 also has a natural leadership ability and people respect what they say. However, he will have a somewhat hard time forgetting the past and may take a long time to forgive others for past mistakes. We can see from the Prince’s 5 core numbers that he is a natural born leader, 4/ 5 of his numbers are the “leader numbers” and the other number is a master number. The numbers 1, 8, and 9 are the numbers with the greatest leadership ability and in particular we see the combination of 1 and 8 in a disproportionate number of the world’s most powerful people. The Prince’s intensity number is 5. With 5 as the intensity number, travelling, communicating and continuous learning will be very important to him. He will greatly enjoy traveling to foreign cultures, meeting foreign people and understanding their way of life. He will have a strong sense of adventure and curiosity. There are no number 2s in his full name (number of lack is 2). This suggests that he will have a hard time working in a team, and will have to work on his diplomacy. He will have difficulty seeing things from the other person’s perspective in intimate relationships. Other people may at times feel that he doesn’t care enough about their feelings. However, given that he has four cancer planets and number 2 is Cancer’s number, these tendencies will be toned down somewhat. The first letter of his first name is 7 (G). This will give the influence of being able to concentrate and analyze situations in detail. He will need a lot of time to be by himself and simply think about things as he is naturally introspective. It also adds an interest in philosophical matters. In summary, we have a Prince who will be an excellent leader and a trailblazer. He will be sensitive and gentle, yet brave and independent. He will be mysterious and powerful, you will never really know what he is thinking but he will be a force to be reckoned with if you wrong him! He has excellent strength of will, determination and ambition. We will surely see his visionary ideas implemented in his time and he certainly shall not be forgotten in the history books to come! |
