Yesterday I did a radio show with Brenda Black in which I talk about what the world year 7 means on a global scale, discuss how Astronumerology can help you in your career and give out various mini predictive readings to callers. You can listen to the show at

The World Year Number 7

The year  2014 is a number 7 year. The world year gives general information about trends and energies operating on a global scale and that affect everyone, regardless of their personal year number. The number 7 is about philosophy, studying, reading, connecting with a higher power- God or whichever name you choose for the divine. Even if you are not spiritual or religious, you will likely find yourself contemplating the more challenging questions in life and really starting to question if you are truly fulfilling your purpose. In the number 7 world year, people will need more alone time, even people who are usually social butterflies. It is not that people will stop socializing but that they will need more recharging time and they will enjoy being alone more. When people get together, they will want to have discussions about weightier matters, the questions and topics that really matter to them as opposed to superficial chatter and idle conversations. There may be a new trend to spend more time in nature, going on hikes, visiting parks or simply cultivating or spending time in a garden. Being in nature reconnects us to the simple life and the inherent beauty that God has created. It also encourages people to slow down, breathe and clear their mind of unnecessary worry, anxiety or guilt. Practices like yoga and meditation will become more popular during a 7 year as people are interested in spiritual growth and attaining more peace and harmony in their lives. It is a good idea to mindfully listen, not just with our ears but with our hearts. The universe is constantly trying to send us messages that will guide us on our authentic path but we are usually so caught up in the never ending stream of thoughts that constantly flood our mind that we don’t hear them. This is bad because we get off track and pursue activities and paths that do not serve our true purpose in life, God then has to wake you up with a sledgehammer when you’ve gone too far off course, most people have experienced this at least once in their lives, and it is not an experience that they would want to repeat. In a 7 year, people start to more deeply understand the connection between body, mind and spirit and how if one is unhealthy it negatively affects the other two. There will be less emphasis on being “busy” and more thought put into consciously spending one’s time in order to live a meaningful life. The energy this year is very useful for reconnecting with yourself, reordering your life so that you feel you are fulfilling your dharma- your purpose in life. The focus should be on spending quality time with those who matter the most and making time to be alone, just reflecting on where you were, what you are doing now and what you should be doing in the future to maximize your potential.

Astronumerology and your Career

Astronumerology can help guide you into a career that best suits your personality and that you feel best equipped to do.  The tenth house in astrology is associated with your career, public reputation and the traits in you that are most apparent in your public image. You are likely very aware of these characteristics as people will tend to give you feedback that reflects them. Your chart as a whole reflects your karma in life. By studying your chart, you come to understand yourself on a deeper level and know what your real strengths and talents are, you can be guided into a profession which shines a light on you. I believe that everyone is intelligent and skillful, the key is understanding in what area and then pursuing that area with passion. If you choose a career just based on market demand, income, social status, prestige or because other people think you should do it, it will more likely than not end up not fulfilling you and maybe making you unhappy with your life. I realize that we are in the middle of an economic recession right now and many people are grateful to have a job, let alone one that they like. I am not saying you should give up your job, however the key point is that we will not always be in a recession. When you are in a position that does not suit your personality (for example if you a people person but are stuck behind a computer all day), or in a job that you are not interested in (for example, you studied English but now work in a job that is based primarily on math) you may feel badly about yourself and wonder if other people are smarter/ more competent than you in general, you wonder why you can’t keep up with the demands of the job. You try really hard, but it does not seem to make a difference. It starts affecting your self- confidence and may even result in learned helplessness which may lead to depression. Even if you are not getting paid at the moment for what you are doing, you are developing your knowledge and skills so that when the market picks up, you feel confident in yourself and what you have to offer and you will attract a paid position. You can prepare for the times ahead by analyzing your chart and seeing which directions will be fruitful for you.

To analyze your chart, first look at the sign on the MC. The traits of that sign will be what you most value in a job. For example, if it is Gemini, you like multitasking, variety and excitement, you don’t want to be tied to a routine or a job that requires intense concentration on just one project at a time. If your MC is Leo, you may be attracted to the performing arts where you can be noticed and applauded for your work, any job which gives you an audience of any kind would be good for you, you don’t want to be anonymous or feel unappreciated.

Then look at the ruler of the MC and which house it is placed in. For example if the ruler of your MC is  is in the sixth house, you may be attracted to careers in physical healing such as medicine, nursing, rehabilitation and so forth. Or you could do well in a career relating to nutrition and exercise such as a personal trainer, athletic therapist or a dietitian. If the ruler of your MC is in the ninth house, careers involving law such as a judge, lawyer, or legal assistant would fit. You could go into a job that requires a lot of foreign travel or dealing with foreign people such as a tour guide, travel writer or English teacher. The ninth house also governs higher education so you may work in a university, college or in some other  capacity be imparting advanced knowledge in your particular area of expertise.

Finally, analyze any planets in the tenth house, planets aspecting the MC ruler and planets that aspect the degree of the MC itself, especially planets that make tight aspects. If this applies to Saturn in your chart, you need a good degree of structure, stability and hierarchy in your work. You like clearly defined roles so that you know exactly what is and what is not expected of you. You are likely to have a strong work ethic and are probably willing to put in the extra hours to climb up the corporate ladder. You would also do well in jobs that require you to be stern and keep your emotions in check such as a bills collector or airplane security guard. If Neptune is associated with your tenth house, you may be attracted to careers near the water such as working on a cruise ship, or teaching water sports. You may do well in careers involving religion/ spirituality such as a spiritual teacher, teaching meditation or yoga or working in a place of worship like a pastor.

After looking at your natal chart, you can take a look at your core numbers, life path, birthday, soul urge, personality, and expression to make the picture even more comprehensive. Take into consideration the strengths and talents of each of these numbers but especially the life path. The life path is calculated by adding the month, day and year of your birth. For example, if you were born June 25, 1972, you add 6 + 7+ 1+9+7+2= 5. Five is the life path.

Overall, you must remember to take into account the whole picture, and be especially on the lookout for themes that repeat in your chart and numbers, that will give special clues as to your dharma in career.
