On the other hand, if your spouses' stellium of 3 or 4 planets is placed in your 12th house and your relationship isn't spiritually oriented, you may find themes of a 'secret enemy' emerging. Problems are difficult to decipher at first but gradually emerge in a subtle, hidden way. The 12th house is a a grief producing house and has potential to cause problems on a material level. The composite chart is the chart of the relationship itself and gives insights into energies that only appear when those two people are together. The midpoint method is derived by taking the in between degree of each planet and angle and constructing a new horoscope chart. The davison method is a horoscope chart that is derived from a midpoint of time and space. I consider both midpoint and davison in my relationship analysis and it often occurs that there are many repeating themes between the two charts. Some people have natal charts that make it difficult to have a healthy relationship with anyone, while other people have the potential to have a healthy relationship but may get involved with a partner that is not a good match for them. My first impressions when looking at the charts were seeing Lively's virgo stellium of mars-sun-venus-mercury and moon (which are all conjunct within 11 degrees) placed in Baldoni's 12th house of secret enemies. In Baldoni's commentary on the text messages, he recalls hearing Lively was difficult to work with but he found her genuine so decided to hire her. In fact things seemed to be going really well between them at first but abruptly changed in the Spring of 2023 when Reynolds accused Baldoni of fat shaming his wife (when his text messages were actually very supportive regarding her weight). Regardless, Lively and Baldoni continued to act warmly to each other up until that summer when Lively interpreted a few more incidents not to her liking and complained to Sony about them. When they were on good terms, Lively more and more wanted to see the 'dailies', which were normally reserved for directors, and which people at Wayfarer didn't appreciate. Her husband re-wrote the roof top scene, in which Baldoni feeling pressured by Lively's 'dragons' Reynolds and Taylor Swift (which she referenced in her message to him) felt compelled to leave the scene the way she liked it though actors don't usually have the power to re-write scenes the way they like them. Lively's sun and mars are so closely conjunct that they are in a position referred to as cazimi, where a planet is in the heart of the sun and supercharged by solar power. The planet as a result receives a powerful boost to its significations. With mars cazimi the person can be bold, confident, determined and very ambitious. They go after what they want with everything they have, no fears and inhibitions, with a strong belief that one has to take what they want. According to Baldoni's lawyers, as long as Baldoni went along with what she wanted, Lively was okay. But when he and his company refused to sign a statement taking blame for the criticism she received promoting the movie, that is when the secret enemy emerged and made a powerful move against him.
Reynolds and Baldoni have several key personality similarities, which is interesting because I've observed people speculating online that he became jealous of the emerging chemistry between his wife and Baldoni. Both have virgo ascendants and scorpio stelliums. Reynolds has sun-north node-moon, mars and uranus in scorpio conjunct in the second house. Baldoni has pluto-moon-mars in scorpio conjunct in the second house and these planets also conjunct saturn in scorpio in the third house. For Baldoni, the configuration is difficult to manage. It brings up facing that ruthless, aggressive and violent energy and in this case it is coming in the form of a power struggle with a couple who had significantly more power in Hollywood. It is in the second house, so while it boosted his income, it also had adverse effects on his self worth (his own feelings of anxiety and imposter syndrome and his own admission that the year had been emotionally intense and difficult for his family). Both Reynolds' and Baldoni's stelliums are in similar degrees so many explosive conjunctions are in orb in synastry. These conjunctions are a huge red flag to have pluto, mars, saturn, uranus all conjunct and then involving emotional moon. In fact they have mars opposite mars within 2 degrees (constant fighting and volatility) and their saturns make an exact opposition to each other (burden, debt, exhaustion, feeling of taking 1 step forward and 3 steps back).
Reynolds saturn is exactly conjunct Lively's ascendant and Baldoni's saturn squares her asc-dsc axis exactly. I don't find this aspect to be helpful in close and personal relationships as there is a lack of equality where one person feels in an authoritative or teacher/ helper like position to the other. In this case there is a double whammy with Lively's saturn at 14 degrees sagittarius also squaring Baldoni's asc-dsc axis and Reynolds asc-dsc axis (though the effects are stronger with Baldoni because its a closer orb to his asc-dsc axis.) With Reynolds its possible this inequality was more acceptable for Lively because Reynolds is 11 years older and significantly more materially successful than she is, and she directly benefits from his success. With Baldoni, the coldness and distance this aspect has the potential to bring is more on display. Lively had a hard time accepting Baldoni's authority as her director and boss and according to him, instead tried to seize control herself. He continued that she interpreted neutral comments from him as critical, such as him asking her trainer about her weight. He claimed this was due to concerns lifting her because of his back issue where as she felt it was fat shaming. Lively has her pluto closely opposing the MC which can often relate to difficulties/ power struggles with authority figures. People with an angular pluto in general are more attuned to issues of power and control, and do seek to be in the more powerful position.
Interestingly, Baldoni's mars is in exact opposition to Lively's pluto and around the time of the filings and in January there was an exact mars opposition pluto aspect in the sky in late December and early January. This aspect is currently out of orb but will make one last exact opposition in the latter half of April 2025 where we will see the maximum effects of it again. Mars-pluto hard aspects can be ruthless, brutal and unforgiving. The fights are to strip the other person bare, rather than just getting something for yourself, it feels like the other person wants to ruin you completely. Currently, transiting pluto is making a close quincunx to Lively's mars-sun-venus conjunction and transiting pluto is making an exact square to Baldoni's pluto and also approaching his moon this year, both in the second house and relating to huge financial losses thus far. The same can be said for Reynolds, transiting pluto is closely squaring his north node-sun-moon conjunction in the second house. Hard pluto transits almost always bring power and control struggles. Hard pluto transits to the second house can be associated with self esteem and self-worth and a few days ago a podcast was released in which Baldoni expressed that he felt like an 'imposter' and was struggling with his self esteem and self-worth. Transiting saturn at 18 degrees pisces just crossed his descendant which can bring legal difficulties (7th house represents legal battles and open confrontation). It can bring a feeling of isolation and loneliness and he admitted to being shunned and losing several lucrative jobs as a result of these allegations. Transiting saturn is in Lively's 8th house showing her financial losses there too (she has seen a notable decline in popularity that affects her product sales and potentially future job opportunities). The eclipse occurring on March 14th 2025 falls exact on Reynold's ascendant and this may relate to how he is perceived by society as a person. Previously, he enjoyed a 'nice guy' image but recently many articles have come out challenging this image and I'd say his reputation has taken a severe hit. The text and written communication exchanges between him, Lively and Baldoni have been interpreted as bullying behaviour, particularly the statement he drafted for Wayfarer to take the fall for Lively's bad press and his use of character 'nicepool' to make fun of Baldoni. This axis also relates to marriage as its opposite the descendant and can mean changes in the relationship dynamic between him and Lively in private. There is also an eclipse occurring on September 7th 2025 at 15 degrees pisces that falls a few degrees away from Baldoni's descendant which affects both his image in society and his marriage/ one on one relationships.
During late December and early January, transiting saturn made an exact opposition to Lively's moon (12 virgo) and square to her saturn (14 sag). This would have put a huge damper on her happiness and emotions which is the moon. This can bring mental health issues such as depressive and anxious symptoms, relational issues with those closest to you, feelings of inadequacy, or a more general feeling of sadness and disappointment about something in your life. Saturn's square to the moon can sometimes cause trouble with your mother or difficulties your mother experiences in her life. Saturn square saturn is a generational transit that one experiences around age 37. Saturn squaring itself almost always relates to new responsibilities, and it comes within months of your nodal return which is a major change in life direction. Transiting saturn's square can cause problems to the house saturn is placed in or the house it rules. Saturn has moved on from these degrees and will not retrograde back over them but its notable that saturn's initial transits over these degrees in March and April 2024 coincided with her insisting that her editing notes be incorporated into the film and then deciding she needed solo time in the editing suite with her own editor. According to Baldoni's website, if the demands were not met she wouldn't promote the film, effectively forcing Wayfarer to comply. Natally, Lively has saturn squaring her virgo stellium which can cause a highly self critical, perfectionistic and hard to please nature. Saturn's square to the personal planets can push one to be ambitious but it can often be accompanied by a lack of satisfaction with accomplishments, constant upward comparisons to people more successful, and the need to always be doing more or to be more successful than they are. Early March 2023 was when Saturn initially entered pisces and this was significant because her virgo stellium ranges from 1 degree virgo to 12 degrees virgo. Having transiting saturn trigger the natal saturn square to these planets would be extremely hard mentally, physically and emotionally because saturn takes a relatively long time to move through those degrees and because its over so many planets so many areas of life are affected by house rulership as well. The stellium is in the first house of the physical body, showing part of her self criticism was on her post partum body. She wanted to lose weight before filming certain scenes. While Baldoni sent supportive text messages about her body and weight, she later projected her own feelings of inadequacy onto him, with Reynolds accusing him of fat shaming her in late April. Soon after saturn entered pisces, serious problems started to take root. From reading the timeline, I can see that it was early April 2023 that Lively insisted on taking a pass at writing the rooftop scene. From May onwards she started making daily changes to the script and then it snowballed from there. It's possible that psychologically for her being able to exert creative control in a formal way would be an accomplishment that for so long in the past evaded her and she would finally be successful in the way she pictured success to be. She communicated to Baldoni via text that she felt she wasn't properly acknowledged for her contributions to the scripts by directors in the past and that her 'dragons' Swift and Reynolds would be there to ensure that she is properly acknowledged for her talents. By November 2023, saturn had retrograded back to 0 degrees pisces and was set to go direct at that degree and then it would transit over her virgo stellium once again. Retrogrades turn a planet's energy inwards so it seems like that criticism really festered over the summer where Lively and Reynolds both felt she was treated in a way that was not acceptable to them. When a planet turns direct its energy turns outwards again and matters in the physical world move forward again. Saturn went direct on November 4th and Lively sent Wayfarer her list of non negotiable demands to go back to work on November 9th which centered around the alleged sexual harassment she faced.
Looking at the davison chart between Baldoni and Lively, saturn is closely conjunct the IC which is difficult for personal happiness and it opposes the MC which is reflective of their career related difficulties when together. Saturn making a hard aspect to the MC can definitely bring career success but often it is accompanied by delays, obstacles and general problems. Sometimes it can be linked to lack of popularity when together which is now what is happening. Planets that are in the 29th degree have too much expression of that planet's energy and the sign's energy (that it is placed in). The result is that the planet is not balanced and can cause trouble. Saturn is at the 29th degree of scorpio suggesting that its energy is overdeveloped and because sex is related to scorpio (scorpio represents the genitals) it can be taken to symbolize difficulties (saturn) related to sexual harassment (scorpio) in the career (MC). Worth noting is that venus is at the 29th degree of libra showing the venus energy is overdeveloped and venus and saturn are in an exact semisextile. Venus in hard aspect to saturn can show a coldness and a distance in love, caring and affection. The moon-mars conjunction in libra shows a sexual and emotional attraction between the two that is accompanied by frequent arguments, and perceived insensitivity on both ends. It's an aspect where little (and sometimes petty) things can be bothersome, that other people may not notice or react to. Venus conjunct pluto is out of sign by 6 degrees. This aspect can be obsessive, passionate, jealous and very intense. It is conjunct the south node meaning that this is a past life karmic imbalance they have come to try to work out again. I've seen the hard venus-pluto aspects manifest in composites and synastry where one person dominates (or attempts to dominate) the other person. This can be conscious and unconscious. It seems true of what happened with Lively and Baldoni because he wrote in one email that he gave her 98% of what she wanted and he was too tired to keep fighting. She was the one holding the power because of her popularity, wealth and fame and he felt he would lose too much money by fighting against her. The moon is making an exact square to neptune and the sun making an exact semisquare to neptune. Both aspects contributing to not seeing the other person clearly with an idealistic bent. First it seemed their relationship had a very warm, trusting tone but when both people started to see the other person as they really were, it was not what they thought and both felt very disappointed. Lively's cazimi sun-mars conjunction is exact on the ascendant of this chart which highlights the tendency for her to take the dominant position, stating all her objectives and desires related to her version of the film being released and getting producer credit, and watching one by one as they were met. Though she has admitted to wanting (and secretly pursuing) more creative control for her movies in the past (2022 forbes interview) this was likely the first time she encountered a director who was not famous or wealthy enough to stop her from crossing the boundary from actress to director.
The composite chart is very similar to the Davison. The degrees on the angles remain the same and most of the planets make the same aspects as described above. One difference is that the venus-pluto-south node conjunction is made into a larger stellium with mercury making an exact conjunction to the south node. Planets conjunct the south node relate to karmic imbalances from past lives, they usually feel like debts or something holding you back. If you see many planets making hard aspects or conjunctions to the south node within a tight orb, it usually indicates you had a difficult past life with someone and there are themes that have to be addressed again. The relationship can feel limiting after a while, and sometimes difficult. With this configuration I wouldn't be surprised if they were lovers several times in the past which accounts for the intensity of emotion between them. Mercury relates to communication, oral and written, and when mercury is conjunct the south node it makes sense that one of the main issues is creative differences about the wording and portrayal of the script. There is also the shadow side to mercury which is that words can be used to deliberately hurt other people. Lively has admitted to poisoning the gossip girl cast she was a part of back in the late 2000s against Penn Badgley because she didn't want to work with him (and later whom she dated in real life). Baldoni feels that Lively used her words to poison the rest of the cast against him and defame him in larger society. Lively feels Baldoni engaged in a smear campaign against her. She interpreted his words to mean that he was being sexually inappropriate with her. Words can cut very deep and take years to forget.
All things considered, I do not feel Lively had the right to assert herself beyond the role she was originally hired to do, which was solely to be an actress. Even if she did believe sexual harassment occurred, I don't see how she could use that to justify seizing control of a movie where she did not have authority to do so and use her good friend Taylor Swift as leverage in the process. I think her taking the film from him is going to cause a major karmic debt on her part and is an abuse of the power she has. This relates to pluto being conjunct the south node, there is a lesson around the abuse of power. We will have to see what happens as the court case takes place but after analyzing the evidence so far, I feel more inclined to say that Baldoni is more truthful. It seems that Baldoni is largely in a defensive role, where as the much less powerful figure, he is trying to save his reputation by providing evidence that he didn't do what Lively claims he did. In the composite chart, jupiter is tightly conjunct the descendant. Materially, this film did really well at the box office and made both Lively and Baldoni much richer. However, jupiter has the tendency to expand on whatever it touches so may not always be benefic that way. It can symbolize over confidence and not looking at situations realistically. In this case, jupiter conjunct the dsc may relate to the need to get lawyers involved (lawsuits are represented by the 7th) and the refusal to settle the case as most people would (both parties turned down an offer to settle despite the growing financial and emotional drain on both sides). The composite descendant is 1 degree pisces. Another important fact is that during filming, transiting saturn made an exact conjunction to this degree in March 2023. Having saturn transit through the composite 7th house would be very difficult for their relationship and shortly after this was when problems started occurring between them. In a one on one relationship in general, saturn's transits through the 1st and 7th houses are most difficult, especially if the two are family or close friends but its effects are still felt whatever the nature of the relationship. Saturn's transits through the 4th and 10th houses of a composite or davison are also difficult because they are angular and take on more prominence if the relationship is between immediate family members (4th) or business partners (10th). Eclipses are often active when two people meet for the first time and for the length of time they are in contact, can signal major changes in the relationship. For example, Lively agreed to play Lily Bloom on Dec 31 2022, and October 25 2022 there was a solar eclipse at 2 degrees scorpio and on November 8 2022 there was a lunar eclipse at 16 degrees scorpio. In the composite, venus and pluto are at 0 to 4 degrees scorpio and the sun is at 16 degrees scorpio. The eclipses in March and October 2024 at 5 degrees and 10 degrees of libra respectively activated the touchy, irritable mars-moon conjunction at 4-8 degrees libra in their composite. As you recall, the moon-mars conjunction can make people over sensitive to comments and behaviour and can cause explosive angry outbursts and feelings of being attacked or criticized.
