Five Core Numbers: Expression Number

“None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The expression number is derived from adding all of the letters in your name. Your natural way of behaving is shown here. It shows how you are in the good times and the bad times. It is your talents, skills, motivation, strengths, and challenges; in sum the potential of what lies in you waiting to blossom. The answer to what interests you is found here, what lights your heart on fire? You are naturally drawn to the areas symbolized by this number and you will find that people who are happy with their lives had a chance to actively explore those interests. In fact pursuing these interests will lead to the most personal growth. Luckily for you, throughout life you will be presented with opportunities to further develop the traits and potential of this number. The goal should be to recognize these interests, pursue them with passion and develop yourself fully into this number’s full potential!

1: A. J, S

3. C, L, U
4: D, M, V
5: E, N, W
6: F, O, X
7: G, P, Y

For example, we will use the name Brendon Bilou Harris

Brendon 2 9 5 5 4 6 5
Bilou  2 9 3 6 3
Harris  8 1 9 9 9 1

We now must add      2 +9+5+5+4+6+5= 36= 9 for Brendon
                                    2+9+3+6+3=23= 5 for Bilou
                                     8+1+9+9+9+1= 37=1 for Harris
9+ 5+1=15=6

Brendon’s expression number is 6

Expression 1

You must march to the beat of your own drummer. Just because things have always been done this way or it’s a tradition, is not a suitable excuse for you. Your purpose is to discover new things. You can take big risks, and since the risk is often proportional to the reward, you get the big reward eventually, if you persist.

Your style is eclectic and unique, instead of blending in you want to set trends. Being part of the crowd either physically or mentally is not for you, instead you want to lead. You have a strong sense of self and even as a teenager you were not as influenced by peer pressure. If you didn’t want to do something, you likely didn’t. Leaders do get better with practice though and this is a skill that when you take the time to develop can help you fulfill your own purpose.

You do your best work when you do not have to report to others, as you like to have final say. Although sometimes if the other person is on the same wavelength as you, collaborations can be successful. The other person will have to understand your style is straightforward and your tendency to “call it as you see it”. Your need to be self-sufficient is strong and others around you should keep this in mind.

Expression 2

Your interests are in other people, specifically in bringing them together in a harmonious way. You derive purpose in getting close to others, the process of forming meaningful relationships are your true sense of joy. Your proclivity is to work with others to develop collaborations that make the best use of both your talents. Although you can be competitive some times, especially if you are competing in partnerships or teams, you more often want to work with people than compete against them.

You are sensitive to other people’s feelings and are a good listener, people likely come to you just to hear them out. Particularly skilled at picking up nonverbal language, you can feel the true intent of what someone is really meaning. You are good at working with people on a one to one basis for this reason.

Your tendencies towards daydreaming and fantasizing are strong. In some ways this can be good because it is only those who dare to dream who can make a dream come true. But it can also be harmful if you get anxious about things that you fear coming true. The thoughts we think affect who we become and what happens to us according to the law of attraction. Use your imagination and the law of attraction combined with definitive action in turning your dreams into reality.

Expression 3

Your interests are in the creative arts, entertainment, performance, philosophy, travel and higher/ specialized education in fields that interest you. You are inherently optimistic and see the glass half full. You can usually find a silver lining in every cloud and tend to believe that there is a deeper reason for the events happening in your life. Even if not outgoing, there is a need to be recognized for your performing efforts. This could be through speaking, business, arts, science or entertainment, you like to be respected for your teaching and/or performing ability. Foreign travel is fortunate for you and you are likely to meet some of the most important people in your life and have some of the most memorable or life changing events through your travels.

Your philosophical or religious interests can go quite deep and you tend to want to share what you have learned and discuss your experiences with others. This can be good if you encourage open ended discussions where other people feel safe in sharing their knowledge and experience and everyone is treated equally in this regard i.e. no one is right or wrong. In this case, everyone is likely to make new discoveries and deepen their inner journey.

Expression 4

There are two sides to having the expression 4 and you may identify with one of them more than the other or recognize a mixture of both within you. One is the steadfastness, duty and responsibility that characterize the 4 as the pillar of the community. Hardworking citizens who go to work and contribute to their society in practical ways. They are organized, efficient and follow through on promises made. It makes them joyful to be respected for their work and concrete contributions to society and to feel secure in positions that they hold. They can be strategic planners.

The other side is the humanitarian, inventor or rebel/ wild child. One facet is the concern with human rights and contributing to social justice in active ways. You may feel passionate about fighting for those who are underprivileged or have been marginalized in some way. Getting fair and equal treatment for them is a mission for you. The second is the inventor, with an ability to see possibilities not apparent to most others you can be quick to start a new trend or introduce a new product or service not offered currently. Ability to see things from many different perspectives and get along with people from all walks of life is a talent you have. The third facet is the rebel or wild child. This expression takes pleasure in doing things to go against the grain, which may or may not be good depending on the cause and circumstances around it. Other people find it very hard to influence you once you have a set idea in mind.

Expression 5

Your purpose has a good part to do with your communication skills and getting your message out to the world. This is a mental influence, giving you a logical, quick witted mind, able to learn concepts quickly. You have an eye for facts and figures and usually are swayed most with arguments based in logic rather than emotionally based arguments.

One of your talents is getting your message out to the world, for instance through public speaking, writing, publishing, poetry, or broadcasting. By enhancing your communication skills, you may use this skill to advocate for the type of change in society you feel most passionately about.

Variety is the spice of life and you need physical and intellectual stimulation; thus, you are looking for new experiences which stimulate the five senses and provide excitement. Foreign travel is likely to be a major interest for you and will help you on your personal journey. You also love to experience new perspectives on life and see how different people live.

Expression 6

With an expression of 6, you have a talent for helping people in compassionate and non-judgemental ways. It brings you joy to know that your efforts make a positive difference in people’s lives. You are a trustworthy and loyal friend and during the difficult times, people may lean on you for support, guidance and to clarify their own thoughts and feelings. Your empathy stems from your own obstacles. The strength that you used to overcome them can help you reach out to people who suffered in similar ways to you. People may describe you as kind and gentle but at the same time strong and able to withstand hardship.

You are magnetic and have a charisma about you that sometimes you do not take full advantage of. Although you are not superficial, the clothes you wear and the way your home looks has a powerful effect on you. Your home is a place of great pride for you so by making sure it is beautifully decorated there is a strong boost in your self- confidence.

Expression 7

Number 7 is a number of duality. One part of this expression relating to Neptune (which vibrates to number 7) can be deeply human, feeling others’ emotions deeply and seeking to correct the inequalities in the world. There may be a need to protect or help those in a disadvantaged position. They are idealistic and can have visions of how life can be if key social problems are fixed.

Another part of this expression is the abstract thinker, found deep within an inner world of ideas and knowledge. It is the perennial student, always learning, thinking, and questioning. Although they have a healthy respect for authority, they resent the blind following of leaders or attempts to mute freedom of speech and thought. They are free thinkers and will come to their own conclusions based on their experiences. They are not ones for idle chatter but when they speak they do it on topics that mean something to them and issues that they would like to be brought out for further examination.

Friends and family must understand that people with an expression 7 are private and if they reveal their innermost thoughts and feelings to you, it is a great compliment because they rarely do so. They need plenty of alone time and if you do not give it to them, they will withdraw. The best way to interact with them is to keep healthy boundaries because they will always have their own inner world, regardless of how intimate your relationship is.

Expression 8

The expression 8 gives a serious type of tone to the personality. There is an interest in power, status, authority and wealth. It is important to you that your discipline and persistence are rewarded with tangible rewards such as power and money, you need people to respect your accomplishments.

Under pressure you tend to react calmly, at least on the surface, and other people may turn to you for protection or guidance during the tougher times. However you may have a tendency to not want to depend on others for emotional support, perhaps suffering in private and not revealing your deeper insecurities during times of challenge. Similarly although you are happy to give to charities you find worthwhile, you are very hesitant to receive handouts or be the recipient of charity. You have a deep need to be self- sufficient and to have the resources to help those you love.

Expression 9

There is a wonderful enthusiasm and drive present here, with vigor to live life to its fullest adventure. You are generally outspoken and direct in achieving your objectives.
You may have an attraction to the esoteric, intuitively understanding that there is more to the world than meets the eye. You can be intuitive and sense the true motivations of people quickly and accurately.

You can be a skilled teacher and have a way with those younger than you, particularly children and teenagers. Perhaps because in some ways you are childlike, there remains a basis for understanding their thoughts and feelings in a manner that many adults have lost touch with.
One of your talents is your humanitarian side, the drive to fight for those underprivileged and to help causes that you care about. You may become a leader in an organization or social movement designed to bring awareness to these issues.

Expression 11

One distinguishing feature between 2 and 11 is that 11 is quite independent by nature and achieves most spiritual progress on their own through personal study and reflection. Number 11 is not as dependent on relationships for personal fulfillment. The traits of the 11 such as illumination, intuition and sparking change are emphasized. There is courage to speak out on critical issues relating to sociocultural and economic change, even when it is not the easiest path. Part of one’s karma is to develop more awareness of the conscious mind through spiritual activities and to assist others in doing the same.

Expression 22

Your karma relates to transforming vision into reality, being blessed with the productivity and attention to detail associated with the number 4 and combining it with potentials not yet realized. The energy is conducive to being a coach, seeing traits in other people that they may not yet be aware of; you can work with them to develop that potential. Technology, inventions, and inspired thinkers fascinate you to think beyond what we now know as the truth. Take the time to explore and develop the revolutionary side to your nature.
