We are just past the two eclipses and still in eclipse season and the energy is getting more heated as expected. For example, the escalating trade war affecting Canada and the United States is already impacting millions of people, will soon impact millions more if/ when they go into effect. There is increasing aggressive behaviour from the United States to Canada, with Canada being portrayed as a country taking advantage of the States and there being a dispute about the long time Lake Ontario being called Lake America by Trump. Something like this is unprecedented and will change the North American economy and U.S- Canada relations for a long time. In the astrological community, there has been a huge controversy with esteemed astrologer Steven Forest using the 'N word' on a public podcast with a Black colleague. To my awareness there hasn't been something like this in North America for a long time, at least nothing made to this degree of public knowledge. In my view, the sizeable number of responses not taking much accountability or making light of what was said reflect the unconscious biases in society that have been repressed for a long time. Under the new political climate in the States, I observe these opinions coming out with greater freedom of expression. Fortunately, there are a lot of voices talking about why what Forest said was wrong and the deep harm it has caused to many, and these voices will not be silenced. It is a conversation that needs to be had. Harry and Meghan are moving back from California to England, presumably as Harry has been away from home for a long time and it has been much more difficult than they anticipated in the States. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's case was finally settled a week ago, with Baldoni having to pay a tiny fraction of the legal costs she was seeking. Blake's birthday on August 25th means she has the eclipse closely conjunct her sun, which is always a life changing year for the individual. Perhaps she will try to re-shape her public persona as it has been under fire (and rightly so) since she filed this case. I had written another article when this lawsuit first emerged, and unfortunately the only people who really benefitted were the lawyers working on the case.

The eclipse August 28th just after midnight occurs at 4 degrees 54 minutes pisces which is making an exact conjunction to mercury at 5 degrees 22 mins virgo and an exact square to uranus at 5 degrees 37 mins gemini. Pluto at 3 degrees 35 minutes aquarius, neptune at 3 degrees 45 mins aries further emphasize the drastic changes already arriving or soon to arrive for people who have planets around 0 degrees to 10 degrees of mutable signs or to less of a degree to people who have many planets or house cusps in 0 to 10 degrees of any sign. The closer you are to around 4-5 degrees of the mutuable signs, the more intensely it affects you due to orb of influence. Eclipses are felt more strongly when making a major aspect to a planet, house cusp, angle or node in the natal chart. However, they will fall in one of your 12 houses so everyone still feels its impact somewhere in their lives. Sometimes the effects are immediate to the days, weeks and adjacent months and sometimes they are sometime over the next year or year leading up to it. To illustrate, I can share that for me, this eclipse makes a 3 degree conjunction to my 8th house cusp. I will receive the proceeds of my house sale into my account on September 1st. Given the time it was acquired to when it was sold, there is a healthy profit due to the real estate market going up. The 8th house is money you don't earn, among many other significations. In my family, my mother's Will is scheduled to be signed this week, perfect timing, as the 8th house represents inheritances, Wills, death and legacies.

Neptune and pluto are both semisextile the eclipse, which is a difficult minor aspect. This eclipse also makes an out of sign conjunction to the south node, giving it that fated quality. You think things are going in one direction when actually they may not be. People can abruptly change their minds out of the blue or do things totally out of character. There can be blindsides and betrayals. Mercury making an exact square to uranus means that people will say things for shock value, deliberately to stir the pot whether they think it is true or not. Tons of controversy everywhere with narratives shifting constantly. What has been felt for a long time can finally be verbalized leaving the receiver of the news to deal with things they didn't anticipate hearing now or ever. There can be radical messages that shift the collective consciousness and wake people up. Plans in the works for months or even years can be halted or changing direction and things you never expected to happen can all of a sudden happen and force your attention to it. Squares from uranus are life's way of jolting you completely out of your comfort zone, hopefully to make changes that can help you in the long run and going into new directions that are better for you in an overall sense. This eclipse also has a lot of mental energy due to mercury being conjunct it so expect for there to be overthinking and overanalyzing and other difficulties in communication.

As a result of these difficult features, I would anticipate significant difficulties in love and romance. You have to take a lot of extra care when communicating to your partner, if you don't unfortunately there can be misunderstandings, arguments and hurt feelings. Expectations can become misaligned and assumptions made instead of asking questions for clarity. This can also extend to family and friend relationships to a lesser degree since venus aims to create harmony in relationships and the sesquiquadrate makes that more challenging than usual. Finally, the nodes have shifted into leo/ aquarius so people with planets in the fixed signs (leo, aquarius, taurus, scorpio) will be feeling this influence over the next few years. It is also a shift in the collective consciousness every time the nodes change axis, so it happening in eclipse season gives it that extra boost of influence and energy.

It most strongly influences those with planets, nodes, house cusps or angles from 15 degrees to 25 degrees of the fixed signs, with the strongest effects for people with degrees 19 to 21 of these signs. This eclipse is making an exact semisquare to venus, continuing the difficulties discussed with the other eclipse making a hard aspect to venus. Venus does make a few other challenging aspects, such as its square to mars and opposition to neptune but is helped by a trine to uranus and pluto and a sextile to mercury so it is more positive than the other eclipse. This eclipse also widely conjuncts jupiter and makes an exact sesquiquadrate to neptune. The jupiter influence can expand the effects even more than they usually would. Jupiter traditionally brings good things, and can expand good things into great things. But it can also expand what we don't want it to expand, you have to see your chart as a whole to see more in detail what jupiter adds for you. The sesquiquadrate to neptune makes things harder to see for what they truly are. Situations, people, circumstances may not be what they appear to be. Not all information is out there initially, so just wait and see before making any commitments.

When you see similar themes come up multiple times, there is greater confidence in the predictions. To go back to my moving houses, I am currently in a perfection year of house 4, and in fact I sold my home the night before my birthday just as I changed perfection years!
