In the western zodiac, Uranus has permanently left taurus yesterday (April 25th 2026) and will settle into gemini for the next 7 years. With Uranus we always say to expect the unexpected because this planet will shake you out of your comfort zone with rapid, unexpected and life altering events and circumstances that can arise out of the blue. Sometimes we think life will go in a linear way but in reality it is non-linear and all it takes is one person or circumstance to shift things for a very long time or even permanently. Sometimes its an unplanned event that shapes your destiny in ways that can't be imagined at the time. If you have planets, angles or nodes in mutable signs (gemini, virgo, sagittarius, pisces) then you will come to face these massive changes when Uranus comes into close orb of the natal point. I also consider Uranus’s impact in the Vedic horoscope, though Uranus is still in taurus in that system. The fixed signs are now being given a break and the mutable signs, especially people with lots of mutable planets will face a wave of rapid changes over the next 7 years.

One recent news headline that comes to mind is January 19, 2026, when Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, wrote a scathing post about his parents' treatment of him and his wife. I would assume this would come as a shock to David and Victoria, that their son would post this publicly. We don't have Victoria's birth time, however in her chart the Sun, Mars, Saturn, Uranus and possibly the Moon are 25 degrees- 29 degrees of different signs and would be closely affected by transiting Uranus at 27 degrees Taurus. We do have David's birth time, his chart is shown below:
On Jan 19th, Uranus was retrograding at 27 degrees taurus. His ascendant is 27 degrees Taurus, so this exact conjunction by Uranus was a radical challenge to his identity as a father and how he is perceived publicly and the exact opposition with his descendant shows the impact to his relationship with his wife. David's Mercury is at 25 degrees taurus, so transiting Uranus made a 2 degree conjunction. His Jupiter at 10 degrees aries and his Saturn at 14 degrees cancer both received 2 degree semisquares from Uranus. In total 3 planets plus the ascendant-descendant axis were closely impacted by hard aspects including the conjunction. We may also consider his MC-IC axis at 26 degrees capricorn-cancer was receiving exact trines and sextiles. The Uranian energy is now starting to move away as Uranus entered gemini on April 25th but the aftermath of this is still ongoing and it may take a while for this rift to heal. Uranus changes us in ways that we could have never anticipated by bringing up dimensions of ourselves that would not have been brought up if our life had gone the way we wanted or thought it may. I always consider there are two perspectives in any situation and neither the parents nor Brooklyn are fully correct in the way it was handled.

As a result, when he had his own transits as a trigger, such as the transiting Uranus making a 1 degree semisquare and sesquiquadrate to his Venus and Moon respectively, his emotions exploded in a way that make it impossible to go back to the way things were before. The Moon is our emotions and for men the wife is Venus, so it makes sense for his emotions to explode as a result of the way he perceived him, and his wife were being unfairly treated. Uranus affecting these planets across the 1st-7th axis shows how his public identity has been altered as a result of this along with the difficult impacts to his relationship with his wife. He still has 17 million followers on instagram at the time I am writing this article but it seems that his public image may take some time to recover as people have mixed reactions to what he did. When Uranus transits through a house, and especially crosses a cusp we have that opportunity to embrace that pioneering energy and release stagnant thoughts and behaviours that keep us trapped in the past.
A way to use Uranian energy intentionally is to travel to one of your Uranus lines in astrocartography and/ or spend time with people (either in real life or through books and media) or in places that can challenge you to think in a new way. Preferably people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish and have done it in a way that shows integrity, determination and hard work. Someone who comes to mind is self-made multimillionaire Emma Grede who I recently saw on the Oprah podcast. According to Forbes her net worth is $405 million. I admire her belief in herself to do great things and the firm understanding that though she came from humble beginnings she had what it takes within her to achieve her dreams and that no one was better than her regardless of what they had materially. Some of her takes have been controversial and this may be due to her sagittarian bluntness (4 planet stellium in sag) the exact hard aspect between Uranus and Mercury and/or the Mercury- Saturn conjunction (it’s not the employer’s responsibility to ensure work-life balance, working from home kills careers, women shouldn't wait to have kids in their late 30s or later, just 20 mins a day of quality time spent with each kid daily and 3 hours on the weekends with kids) and I don't agree with these and other personal and family views she holds, but she is authentic, full of passion and ready to help other female business owners rise. She is a woman of colour, raised in a lower-middle class family with a single parent head of household, dyslexic and dropped out of school at age 15. She knew well what trajectory other people had in mind for her life but she had the self-awareness and power to not let that happen. Listening to her perspective assisted me in examining some of the culturally held attitudes and gender-based expectations that sabotage female entrepreneurs from rising to what is possible for them.

As well, the Sun was changing signs on this day, so it is possible Emma is a virgo if she was born before 9:30am. Over the last year, I've grown increasingly alarmed with the 'soft-girl' propaganda being sold to young women on social media, along with the 'aspiration' of marrying a rich spouse and spending one's day drinking matcha and doing pilates, meeting friends for expensive meals out/ vacations and posting on social media, and thinking this is a successful life. I love matcha and pilates just as much as any woman but to limit your voice, ambitions, creativity and ability to impact the world in meaningful ways, it is a tragedy. Emma is a much-needed breath of fresh air and I hope she inspires women at all stages of their life to dream a bigger dream than what society expects of them.

What one appears to get away with in this life only becomes a debt to be repaid in another life. Your good actions that seemingly go unnoticed in this life create a credit for a future life. Thoughts, intentions and actions are always considered in the totality of all the lives we live on earth and in that view are perfectly fair and balanced.
There is not much point in trying to fight the reality of what is unfolding, though you can try to mitigate the difficult impacts. I believe that the best way to navigate is to try to understand what karma it is you need to balance, accept the changes with grace and to apply spiritual practice on a daily basis to calm the mind, body and spirit. As well, though the changes may be like a dark cloud in real time, every cloud has a silver lining that comes out with time. Things that we thought were bad in retrospect turn out to be for the best. On the flip side, things that were too good to be true can be revealed for what they really are. It is never too late to get off a train that you know is going to the wrong destination if you missed your stop. The good news is that no transit lasts forever, every piece in the divine story line of our lives has a beginning and an end and these can be seen with the timing of the transits.
