Gandanta points are transitions between water and fire signs in Vedic astrology. These are 29 degrees Pisces to 0 degrees Aries, 29 degrees Scorpio to 0 degrees Sagittarius, and 29 degrees Cancer to 0 degrees Leo. These points are associated with a lack of boundaries, specifically the boundary from the earthly to spiritual realm. Thus having one or more of these points is extremely favourable for tremendous spiritual growth and progress in this lifetime, cutting through the veil of maya and having a profound transformation that impacts your life and the lives of many people around you both directly and indirectly. It makes a person intuitive, mystical, and more connected with subtle energy. It is an exclusive door into another dimension, and powerful for spiritual discernment. To give an example, Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, had Mercury at 29 degrees Scorpio in Jyestha nakshatra. These illuminating times of boundary crossing into increased wisdom can be predicted when an outer planet such as Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, or Jupiter make a close transiting aspect to the gandanta point. At this time, the person will have a chance to untie the knots of karma that leads them to a major breakthrough in consciousness level. However the process can be linked with considerable trauma, struggle, and upheaval, maybe even a dark night of the soul.

What will be the nature of gandant Venus along with vargottama status, when it is positioned in pieces and under friendly aspect of Saturn.

That sounds like an auspicious combination as Venus is vargottama and exalted; a high level of personal and spiritual development. Saturn gives discipline and perseverence in one's quest for enlightenment. However you must consider the house placements from the lagna and chandra lagna, along with any yogas the planets participate in and what the vimshopaka bala score of Venus is.

Thank you sooooo much. My son has lagna transitioning from Scorpio to Sagittarius in Moola. His lord, Jupiter is in the 6th house. He was born seconds after the transition into Sagittarius. i know this because he was born at home. Jyotishes made me worry the last 28 years. But you have have hit it right on the head. From gambling to spiritual mentor I am sure. And he is such a great soul, with spiritual upbringing. He deserves to transition to something more satisfying. Love this video and your wisdom.

Thank you Tulasi, I appreciate it. Certainly having a gandanta point can be a blessing if the person can harness the intense energy correctly.

Perhaps this transit of Saturn in Sagittarius will bring change for him (above comment) as it will bring a Saturn return over his natal Saturn in the first house. Changes for a professional poker player transitioning to some kind of spiritual guide for mankind is my prayer for my son.

Very good info. However, for those who say they want to pursue a spiritual goal, are you prepared to sacrifice everything you consider as yourself? Are you prepared to take whatever obstacles come on the path? We have to be careful what we ask the Universe for.

Like someone said, we have to be very careful what we ask the universe for. I have been on the spiritual path for yrs now. But life has been a constant struggle. Did not seeking God can be so tough. I have Guru in gandanta 29 pisces. Extreme sensitivity, taking in others negativity.. I still want God but hope He gives strength to handle stuff.

I was told by my jyotish friend that I have Jupiter/ Venus conjunction gandhanta at Pisces/Aries cusp. Right now I think that Saturn and Pluto are squaring it with Jupiter also squaring this year and Rahu has returned to natal point at this time. Everything has been taken from me..... Everything. How can I look at this positively?

Although your post is more than a year ago this video from Joni Patry might explain your experience. She has several videos on Youtube about ghandanta. https://youtu.be/tAlMgg4u-64

This is very interesting to me. My Cancer Moon is ruling @ 29° and conjunct with my Cancer Ascendant @ 26°. These are trine to exalted Venus @ 25°33’ Pisces & ruling Jupiter @ 1° Sagittarius. It sounds quite familiar to me! Does this mean I have four Spiritual Knots? These are tied into a mutable grand cross (Sun/Mercury, Pluto, Mars, Jupiter) and a yod (Mars, Neptune, Saturn). Only Uranus is left out @ 13° Leo, 1st house (my middle name - maybe the rebel without a clause?). Is this a Gandantha trine? Could you call it a Gandantha Grand Anthem? Where can I get insight into my inner work needed? Thanks

I also have Mercury in Jyestha but at 26 degrees. Again I thought the gandanta was 26 degrees of water sign to 3 degrees into the next fire sign.
