When I found out that the landmark decision of Roe v. Wade giving autonomy to women over their bodies with regards to having a baby was overturned, I was devastated. I couldn't believe women of my generation and those after living in a North American country will not have the same rights as our mothers and grandmothers. Women who have resources can travel to states where they can get abortions, and those who lack money are left with no legal choices to terminate their pregnancy. We divide society further and further by race and social class, and the most marginalized groups are left in vulnerable positions. For all the progress women have made over the last 50 years, this is a huge step backwards.  I know the collective dharma, our sense of right and wrong, has been rapidly decreasing since 2020, and the power abuses in the name of COVID on a disturbing upward trend. Pluto is all about power and control, it makes sense that it's return would cause those in power to ruthlessly seek more of it by forcing their personal ideologies on others. Knowing the majority of the U.S. did not hold anti-abortion views, six Supreme Court justices  (five men and one woman) knew they didn't have to be held accountable for the impact their decisions would have on women in their country and most likely influence other countries around the world. I can't help but think, if this decision was really for the best interest of the child, why not invest more in programs for struggling single mothers, extend parental leave, provide larger subsidies for daycare or assist with items such as diapers or formula? None of these are a priority. Instead, women who have been raped, or who are in school, or lack the funds to raise the child and struggle without family support, or those who feel forced to put the child up for adoption, among countless other difficult scenarios, will be forced to carry their baby to term with untold trauma that may take a lifetime to work out.  When the mother is not happy, the child cannot be happy. Decisions like this may cause intergenerational trauma and it perpetuates the systemic poverty that influences generations.

       Currently in the sky, there is a mars-pluto square which is a very controlling, violent energy that can be greedy, ruthless and power hungry. If you look at the U.S. birth chart, transiting saturn today is sitting exactly on the moon at 24 aqu (moon represents women) and the moon is in the 5th house (of children), so it is a logical consequence that the rights of women to make decisions about their childbearing has been revoked. Saturn is about restrictions, obligations and duty. The U.S. is under immense pressure with saturn conjunct the moon as the moon in vedic astrology represents the mind.  The U.S. is in it's most intense phase of sade sati and has reached a boiling point. Saturn making a conjunction to the moon causes grief, sadness, anger, feeling of being stuck and trying your best but going nowhere, and overall depression and anxiety. The pluto return saturn is at 17 aqu which conjuncts the U.S. birth chart 5th house cusp at 16 aqu by 1 degree, saturn's effect on the 5th house is symbolic of a sense of burden and obligation with respect to children, and/or difficulties with child birth and raising a child.  Additionally the 5th house cusp is 16 aqu which is being squared by a degree by transiting uranus, so this decision came as a huge shock to people when it was first leaked, and even now as people may have thought public pressure could have stopped it from occurring. In the pluto return, venus rules the 5th house and is weakened by being in an exact conjunction with mars, which is a second rate malefic in vedic astrology. Venus is the feminine principle and mars is the masculine principle and venus being closely conjunct mars suggests women's rights being overpowered by men in power for their own gains. I wrote about the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial in my last post, and while I did not take sides as to who is more correct, I think the effect of this trial will be to silence women and empower wealthy men to think their money can allow them to get away with bad behaviour. Saturn is the dispositor of venus in capricorn, and it is at 16 degrees aqu, which is being squared by transiting uranus in taurus now. Uranus will retrograde in August and will go back to 16 tau this November, where it also makes a tight conjunction to the eclipse at 16 tau on Nov 8th. This can be explosive and political decisions over the next year may be game changers.  The north and south nodes in the pluto return at 26 tau-26 sco make an exact conjunction and opposition to the most malefic fixed star in the heavens Algol, which is widely understood to be associated with evil, intense anger and sadness, destruction, disasters and violence. The eclipses in November 2021 and May 2022 were very close to this axis at 27 tau and 25 sco respectively, which magnified the malefic energy.  In the return chart saturn is in the 9th house of judges and the law, and usually this correlates with judges making excessively conservative decisions. They may think they are being ethical but it is hard to see how they can think this decision is the most compassionate. You are allowing a child in this world with the possibility that critical physical, emotional and mental needs are not being met. The ripple effects of these six judges will be felt for decades.

     It will take a long time for this to sink in, how women have been stripped of their power, setting the precedent for further rights of women and other oppressed groups to be taken away as well.  Many people believed their government's response to COVID was out of proportion to the risks posed by the disease, and the imposed restrictions a way for governments to gain more power and wealth at the expense of their citizens. Certainly, as a Canadian I have witnessed things occurring that I could have never imagined happening in this tolerant and freedom-loving country prior to 2020. So many people live as if karma is not real with a stunning lack of empathy and respect for other people.  Today the majority of the U.S.  Supreme Court flaunts their power, thinking they are gods who can get away with anything. They have no idea what they set in motion for their future lives. 

            It was in 2012 that I first launched this website, and began a more professional practice of Astronumerology. I had done readings for family and friends prior to that and in perfect timing as my venus was eclipsed in May 2012 at 0 degrees gemini (venus rules my 10th house and is in the 10th house) I began working on and subsequently published this website.  It was time to define part of my professional identity as an Astronumerologist. It was (and still is) my intention to teach the public about this profound art and science that has transformed my life, and make the teachings as accessible and practical as they could be, while at the same time maintaining its depth and authenticity. Since then I have done hundreds of readings for people all over the world, which I am so grateful for as I learn from each and every client's life.  I will never cease to be amazed at how the universal intelligence plans everything, sometimes down to the minute, and everything occurs in divine timing. The planetary motions are the gradual unfolding of our karma over time.  The stars give timing to our fate, they don't determine it. We determine it through the karma of our past and present actions. 

      I celebrated my birthday yesterday and had the chance to reflect on how my philosophies have changed with my new experiences. I believe that you can never have all the slices of the pie at the same time in life, each slice representing different desirable conditions in life. To me, happiness comes from focusing on the slices that I do have, and surrendering to God's plan for my life. The law of attraction and manifestation trains people to focus on desire after desire, always wanting something else. Some popular teachers preach that if only you can visualize in great detail what you want to have on a daily basis and want it badly enough, you will surely have it as long as you follow their special method. I think they exploit the sense of lack and longing for happiness that many people have. Through my studies, I have come to understand that their fixed karma is to be wealthy or famous because their soul felt these conditions were most conducive to learning the lessons they came to earth to learn. They would have become externally successful even without these law of attraction practices. Just because a person is famous or well regarded in their field, does not mean they are wiser, more evolved or talented than anyone else. They just have the karma to live their lives in the public eye. They have the same internal struggles and fall into the same traps that the average person does, yet they are admired and emulated by those who believe they are truly happy. The trouble with the law of attraction is that you are left living with a subtle level of unhappiness no matter how much you have accomplished or how ideal your life looks from the outside. There may be a sense of longing for someone else to validate your latest accomplishment, for you to gain wider recognition or compensation for your skills, and for loved ones to behave in a way that is accordance with your expectations of them. When others fail to meet expectations, you are unhappy. In contrast, when you accept people for who they are, you have more inner peace because your happiness is no longer dependent on the way they treat you.

     I think positive affirmations and goal setting are important, so long as you do not get attached to a particular outcome or judge your sense of worth in comparison with others.  Thoughts are trains and you need to be careful about which train you get on. Sometimes our own plans for our lives do not accurately reflect the fixed karmas in our charts, or the wider universal script. It can sometimes be difficult to comprehend why certain outcomes occur. I no longer give my mental peace away by replaying in my mind what I wished could have gone differently. People are in our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. I trust that whomever is with me is meant to be with me at this time and I let go of those who are no longer with me. People can only stay so long as there is a match energetically, or there is some karma to be worked out, and when there is a shift in either person or the work between them is finished for this lifetime, people will go their separate ways.

      I believe the best way to proceed is to take action towards your goals keeping in mind the universe may have a different plan for you. Surrender to divine will brings the deep rooted peace we see in those who have become self-realized. There are many unexpected twists along the way that could never have been anticipated and that change the course of your life. We must not lose faith trying to understand why things happened the way they did because we did not write the script:

"When something does not go the way we anticipated, we tend to blame ourselves. We assume that it was some fault, failing or curse of our own that caused the project not to bear the intended fruit. However, God’s plan is sometimes inscrutable and His ways are frequently mysterious. The reason for a project’s failure or a venture’s loss may have no connection with our hard work or capabilities. It may simply have to do with the script of the Eternal and Universal Drama."

​     We can find happiness to the degree we surrender to God's plan instead of craving for more and trying to change the script. Our destinies are interrelated and the intersection of important meetings have already been set at specific times. The universe has perfect intelligence and wisdom. I have observed that people create much of their own sadness and anxiety by having thoughts and expectations that are not in line with their destiny. It’s so peaceful to go through life watching it as the passing show, while the real excitement is within our own souls, to go inward is where the magic is.

     It is now a inner knowing of mine that you can try as hard and as long as you want, but if what you want to happen isn't part of the cosmic play, it won't happen. And then there are times that things will happen effortlessly. You must try your best but learn to accept outcomes as God's will and sometimes beyond the human mind to fully understand these mysterious ways. I've learned it's best not to judge an outcome as good or bad, because we may not know why the sequencing of events had to happen a certain way. I believe that is what the sages mean when they say that thinking is not necessary for life to go on, and now I realize the futility of thinking so much on a given topic when the outcome is already set to occur. Surrender means letting go and letting God. 

       I love the sense of renewal and rebirth that comes with my birthday, as I feel radiant and ready to take on the next turn around the sun. I have so much gratitude for all of my loyal clients, many of whom have become friends. It has been an immense privilege to get to know you over the last 10 years and I hope to see many more. 

      The Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial has captivated millions of people around the globe, as intimate details of the former couple's marriage come under intense scrutiny. Johnny is suing Amber for $50 million dollars and she is countersuing for $100 million. The question at hand is did Amber defame Johnny by saying she is a victim of domestic violence? Is there enough evidence that she is telling the truth to defend her American right to free speech? Their marital therapist says they mutually abused each other and I have to agree with this. I do think with Amber's 1 degree square between mercury and neptune that it is likely she embellished her stories, and lied about multiple things. However, I don't think she is lying about everything, there are some specks of truth in what she says. Nevertheless, the lying may take away from her credibility in the eyes of the jurors and the public. Johnny also has a mercury-neptune opposition but at 12 degrees it isn't as potent as Amber's mercury-neptune aspect. He is also capable of misrepresentation or denial of the facts. Mercury-neptune hard aspects (conjunction, opposition, sesquiquadrate, quincunx, semi-square and square) are very well known for "shading the truth". Amber has her moon square neptune and her mars conjunct neptune which makes me believe she does lie even to herself, it is possible she has convinced herself her version of reality is the objective truth. People who have many personal planets in hard aspect to neptune can lie both to themselves and others, both consciously and unconsciously.  Both have hard mercury-mars aspects, which are known for being sharp and cutting with words, provoking verbal arguments, and being blunt. Amber has mercury square mars by 5 degrees and Johnny has mercury square mars by 8 degrees (out of sign). 

     I have been following the trial regularly and recently decided to take a look at what is happening with their charts. They are facing what astrologers call a  prarabdha karma, a fixed karma that cannot be changed. We live many lives on earth and the birth chart is a small piece of the total karma the soul has accumulated that is to be played out in this current role in this lifetime. Some karmas are more changeable with varying levels of effort and free will but some are completely fixed.

        I included only Johnny's vedic chart as he has an accurate birth time, and Amber's birth time is unknown. Vedic astrology is more sensitive to having an exact birth time as compared to the western chart for the planetary strength calculations and divisional charts.

     The 7th house is the house of marriage for both vedic and western. Looking at his 7th house in his rasi (birth chart), saturn is in capricorn and it is retrograde. Saturn in the 7th usually brings a marriage that is more characterized by duty, obligation and responsibility than love. The retrograde adds an element of turning saturn's nature inward, making one excessively self-critical and perhaps more critical of the partner as a result. People with this placement often have heavier karma to pay back in marriage, as they find themselves with partners who may not see their true value, treat them poorly and/or not consider their needs and desires as equally deserving to be met. They may get selfish or unethical partners who do what they want to do without considering the other person's feelings. This does not necessarily relate to length of the marriage but more so quality. They can stay in a partnership for several years tolerating being unhappy and unfulfilled; staying out of a belief that they must do for some seemingly important reason. Happiness, joy and the pleasure of spending time with the partner may not be there too often or they may have to be the caretaker of their partner in some way. The partnership may not be one of equals in reality or one person may feel subjectively inferior or superior to the other. I have even seen cases where the partners divorce but someone with saturn in the 7th will still take care of the partner to an unusual degree when they aren't able to do so themselves. Because saturn is the ruler of capricorn, neither the 7th house nor its ruler receive any aspects from any other planet, strengthening the effects of having saturn in the 7th house, which is not a desirable feature to have. If he had benefic influences such as jupiter, venus, mercury or a bright moon, this could have helped him.

     In the navamsha chart, (chart of the spouse), the 7th house is truly in horrible condition, with 4 malefics influencing it, and no benefic influences to help. The 7th house has rahu and mars in it, while saturn casts a backward square and ketu opposes it. I find rahu and ketu in the 1st-7th axis or associated with the 7th house ruler or dispositor in the navamsha to be like a roller coaster ride with the spouse. Mars conjuncts the descendant by 7 degrees and gives a strong element of serious fighting and provocation, making the partners excessively aggressive with each other. Compromising is not something either of them wants to do, nor is picking their battles carefully. Saturn's backward square is by 6 degrees, also giving a strong element of restriction, grief, feelings of being held back from the other; self-esteem takes a big hit. The ruler of the navamsha chart is jupiter which is in its absolute worst degree, 5 degrees capricorn, the EXACT degree of its debilitation and where it is weakest. Each planet has an exact exaltation degree which is the best degree out of 360 degrees for it to be in and the exact degree of debilitation, which is the worst degree out of 360 degrees for it to be in. Jupiter's exaltation is 5 cancer and its debilitation is 5 capricorn. Either the person's partner suffers tremendously due directly to them, or as a result of being in a partnership with them by being attacked by external sources or facing undue hardship. It also works the other way, with the person who has the planet in fall suffering tremendously due to their partner. In her vedic chart, Amber's mercury is at 12 degrees pisces, only 3 degrees away from its extreme degree of debilitation at 15 pisces. Mercury represents logic, thinking style and communications. Potentially due to this debilitation, her communication may come across as dishonest and manipulative even though in her mind she is expressing her personal truth. Her truths lack evidence in the objective sense, which has become apparent in the cross examination. Although we have a right to free speech, it must meet standards of objective truth to avoid charges of defamation and I am not sure she will be successful in this regard. The truth is the factual truth, not the truth just from one person's perspective.

    The 7th house ruler in the navamsha is mercury which suffers greatly due to its conjunction to a fallen jupiter. Venus in a man's chart represents his wife, so venus being conjunct a fallen jupiter can mean there is something wrong with the wife's personality. There have been accusations from Depp's lawyers that Amber may have borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder. Their marital therapist also said that Amber would be the aggressor more often.

     In the rasi, jupiter is in the 9th house, the 9th house represents the second marriage, thus it would make sense that he had a second marriage during its mahadasha (his first marriage was 1983-1985). The 7th house represents marriage overall but especially the first marriage. For second marriages, I consider the quality of both the 7th and 9th houses.  Because jupiter is in pisces, both the 9th house and 9th house ruler jupiter only receive the aspect of saturn by its special forward sextile and mars by its special forward 8th aspect, the orb is about 9 degrees for saturn and 11 degrees for mars. Receiving only malefic and no benefic influences to the 7th and 9th houses is bound to cause significant hardship, ruin and grief through marriage. Additionally, looking at the dignities in the 16 divisions, in 8/16 of them jupiter is debilitated or in a great enemy sign. There is no way to avoid this but to burn the karma through living through it.

     The vimshottari dasha system shows the unfolding of our karma over time, and we see Johnny started his Jupiter dasha on September 21st 2013, after he had dated Amber for nearly two years and then married her on February 3rd 2015, when he ran jupiter-jupiter-venus (jupiter is the navamsha chart ruler and it is conjunct venus in the navamsha giving it the power to bring about marriage). They started dating in his rahu-moon period, rahu aspects the moon in the navamsha by trine and in the rasi, rahu is in the 7th sign from the moon. The navamsha is not just the spouse, it is  called the fruit of the tree and is studied along with the rasi for an understanding into the personality and overall life circumstances of the individual. Jupiter is in bad condition and that is why as a result of Amber Heard, his professional status, wealth and honours all started to crumble during this period. This jupiter period lasts until September 2029, so things should start to look better for him  (relationship wise) once he begins his saturn mahadasha. 

     Looking at Johnny's western 7th house, his neptune forms an EXACT square to the descendant, showing that he has trouble seeing his wives for who they really are, because he sees them through rose colored glasses at first,  and then is greatly disappointed when he learns the truth. He is unable to see red flags even when warned by others. When you have hard aspects from a personal planet to the other person's neptune, it often creates an inability to accept the person for who they really are, to put them on a pedestal they can not live up to which inevitably leads to heartbreak.   

​       I look at both the composite and davison charts when examining relationships between two people, in addition to the synastry. Keep in mind that the houses are not correct in the composite and davison because Amber's birth time is unknown. The moon would be reasonably close to its position but not exact. The other planets are in their correct positions.  Johnny's moon is conjunct Amber's mars and neptune and his jupiter makes an exact square to her neptune. Amber's sun and venus are opposing Johnny's neptune. His addictions to drugs and alcohol are partly due to the neptune square to the ascendant-descendant axis, neptune represents addictions and escapes. Saturn is the only planet in the 7th house which is the same as the vedic chart. The ruler of the 7th house is uranus which is closely conjunct mars, showing that either the person or their partner can be antagonistic and aggressive, and is not one to make peace easily. Johnny has an explosive mars-pluto-uranus conjunction within 8 degrees which is indicative of his fiery temper, dark sarcastic humour and angry outbursts. Amber's venus is in a wide out of sign square to this explosive combo and in secondary progression her venus and sun in 2016 were making an exact square to uranus and more tightly squaring mars.  Johnny to start with is someone who can get angry at a moments notice, sometimes as a total shock to others and react explosively. Amber's wide natal square from venus to his uranus-mars conjunction sets the stage but the progression of both her sun and mercury to an exact square with uranus in 2015- 2016 really set off the violence. Given that his uranus is in virgo, the dispositor of the 7th house is mercury and mercury is at 25 degrees taurus, closely conjunct the most malefic fixed star algol. Unfortunately, both Amber and Johnny also have their venus conjunct algol (Amber by 1 degree and Johnny exact). The eclipses on November 19th 2021 at 27 degrees taurus and on May 16th 2022 at 25 degrees scorpio are bringing to life this fixed karma. Algol is associated with humiliation, degradation, ruin, grief and a fall from grace. The goddess of love and romance is extremely unhappy being here as falling in love can bring intense pain and sorrow. Worse still, their venus placements are tightly square Johnny's saturn in the 7th house, showing sizeable blockages in their ability to express love to each other. The feelings of rejection, judgement and censorship are prominent. Venus making an opposition, square or conjunction to saturn is one of the worst synastry aspects to have. This "triggering" was discussed by their therapist as well. The synastry and composite show unique relational dynamics between two people. Some people will pull out the worst of you and others the best. Johnny did not have these types of problems in his previous relationships, however the synastry and composite with Amber set off his natal potential with the mars-pluto-uranus conjunction squaring her secondary progressed sun and mercury, them sharing the same venus conjunct algol, and his moon conjunct the north node squaring her moon and making a conjunction to her mars and neptune. The moon conjunct mars causes sexual chemistry but also a lot of fighting. The moon conjunct neptune causes confusion in interpreting the other person's emotions, and difficulty with accurately identifying the emotions the other person is feeling, this conjunction is seen in the davison chart as well. In the davison chart we see mars, mercury and uranus conjunct. In the composite we see mercury opposing the mars-uranus conjunction. Because these themes repeat multiple times it becomes a very prominent theme in their relationship. It perfectly captures the verbal bickering and taunting, which turned into physical aggression and violence on both sides, and what Amber experienced as rough sex. The name calling and intentional humiliation and degradation between them was quite extreme from the text messages and audios played in court. Amber went to the extent of placing human feces on Johnny's side of the bed! Both of them had very malicious intent towards each other, which was more often on the side of hatred than love. They both seemed to want to ruin each other's lives and careers.

"Anderson, a Los Angeles-based therapist, counseled Heard and Depp in late 2015, the same year they got married. While in counseling, Heard had a "jackhammer style of talking" and cut off Depp because he couldn't keep a similar pace, according to Anderson.
The therapist also testified that Depp had been "well controlled" for the majority of his life but was "triggered" by Heard. She said that both of them were victims of abuse growing up.
"And then with Ms. Heard, [Depp] was triggered and they engaged as what I saw as mutual abuse," Anderson said, during the recorded deposition played in court.
She said that when Heard was "triggered" by something Depp did, she considered it a "point of pride" to "initiate" a fight, and "if [Depp] was going to leave her to deescalate the fight, she would strike him to keep him there."

The couple's counselor also said that Heard started the fights with Depp on more than one occasion to "keep him with her because abandonment and having him leave was her worst nightmare."
Anderson added, "I think [Depp] may have initiated it on occasions too. That I am less sure on."

    At the same time, they had very similar tastes because they shared a tight venus-venus conjunction and mercury-venus conjunction. This is what Amber said of their immediate connection:

“We talked about books and music, poetry. We like a lot of the same stuff. Obscure writers and interesting books and pieces of poetry I haven't heard anyone else know or reference or like,” she recalled of their first meeting.
She described Depp as "very well read and charismatic." Heard said she may have left his office with a few books he'd lent her.
"I knew who he was. I wasn't a fan of his work. I wasn't familiar with him, but I knew who he was. I knew he was one of the most famous people in the world," she said. "It was weird, because he's twice my age and this famous actor, and here we are getting along about old books and the blues. I thought it was unusual and remarkable. I left there feeling, like, 'wow.'"

"I felt like this man knew me and saw me in a way that nobody else had," Heard told jurors. "He made me feel seen, made me feel like a million dollars. That kind of feeling where he just lavished gifts, lavished expressions of love, and how he'd never met a woman like me. I remember he took the foil off of this bottle and put it on my ring finger, and I had only been with him, like, days, maybe it was weeks at the time. It just felt very intense."

    Johnny felt their similar tastes were cold and calculated on her part, and I cannot say that she did not research his interests to some degree but having those tight mercury-venus and venus-venus conjunctions would naturally give them very similar tastes in art, music, books, poetry, fashion, beauty, entertainment and anything else associated with venus' domain. This is how he describes it after their divorce: 

Depp claimed that Heard "had well and truly research me and my interests and she would try to pose as some expert or intellectual on these things to try to ingratiate herself with me."
"She presented herself as a carbon copy of me, with precisely the same interests, thoughts, favorite writers, taste in music and art as me," he said in court filings. "Rather than see this as calculated, sociopathic and emotionally dishonest, I convinced myself that it was endearing and sweet."

     Looking at the eclipses we see that Johnny's MC at 3 degrees taurus is activated by the eclipse on October 25th 2022 at 2 degrees taurus. Many people see this trial as vindication of Johnny's name and that he has already won in the court of public opinion regardless of the outcome of the trial. So perhaps, he will see more career opportunities come his way (the MC and 10th house is career). His neptune at 13 scorpio is activated by the eclipses on April 30th 2021 at 10 taurus and November 8th 2022 at 16 degrees scorpio, neptune rules his 8th house so could relate to the money he has to pay Amber or is paid by Amber (8th house represents gaining money that you don't earn, or paying money to others). Neptune in his 4th house also suggests changes in his home, either moving homes or significantly changing his current home. His mercury and venus were both activated by the eclipses mentioned earlier last November and this May. In total 3 planets and an angle are eclipsed showing 2022 as a year when things can finally start changing for Johnny. Amber's sun is at 2 degrees taurus, and when your sun is eclipsed it is a life changing year for you. Her venus at 25 taurus is also eclipsed, though we don't know which houses these planets influence. Her pluto at 6 scorpio is activated by the eclipses in April 2022 and October 2022. She may move out of acting and spend more time on motherhood and perhaps start other projects that are very different from those she has done in the past. In the composite chart, it shows the couple's venus and sun at 25 degrees taurus opposite the moon at 25 degrees scorpio. The moon is reasonably close to 25 degrees scorpio even though we don't know Amber's exact birth time, thus 3 personal planets were eclipsed. In the davison, sun is conjunct venus at 22-24 degrees scorpio so these were eclipsed in 2021-2022 as well. The venus-sun conjunctions in both davison and composite as well as her sun conjunct his MC in synastry both show the mutual admiration, and feeling loved and adored when they first met. These aspects enable you to feel you are a star in the other person's eyes.

​     In terms of transits,  saturn is making its second return for Johnny. Currently saturn is at 25 degrees aquarius. On April 11th 2022 when the trial started, Saturn was making an EXACT conjunction to his natal saturn in the 7th house, triggering this fixed karma. Jupiter just entered his 9th house earlier this month and mars is also transiting through his 9th house. As the jury prepares to deliver its verdict, transiting venus is closely conjunct his MC and transiting mercury is conjunct his mercury-venus conjunction. Transiting venus is conjunct Amber's sun and transiting mercury is conjunct her venus. Transiting saturn is squaring both Johnny and Amber's venus within a degree. Luck is more on Johnny's side as benefic jupiter is transiting through his 9th house which represents law and lawsuits, so he probably will gain more than he loses. As well, venus conjunct the MC usually allows you to showcase a more pleasing and harmonious appearance. His 8th house is also much stronger than Amber's natally, being involved in numerous wealth and status producing yogas in the vedic chart and in the western chart, the cusp is critical degree 4 pisces and the ruler neptune involved in many favourable aspects.

       I believe everything is unfolding just as it should be in divine timing. I don't care anymore about what the jury decides because divine justice is so much more important. People who think they get away with things due to lack of earthly accountability always must pay their dues with the perfect law of karma. They are both living this reality because of karmic transgressions in the past. I hope Johnny and Amber are both able to close this painful chapter in their lives, to release old baggage and trauma that are holding them back, and to move forward in a way that brings them healing and growth.

       I am happy to be presenting an online workshop on the dasas for Astrology Toronto on September 18th from 1-4pm.  Vedic astrology employs the vimshottari dasha system as the main predictive tool to shed light on the dominant themes, trends and karmas that arise during different periods of the human life cycle. Each planet in the birth chart carries with it a karmic promise which will come to fruition during the time that it runs as the Mahadasha (main) or Bhukti (secondary) planet. The planets have a fixed sequence that they run based on the position of your natal moon's nakshatra. The results experienced are highly complex and an accurate understanding of the karma is dependent on a holistic synthesis of various factors lending strength and weakness to the planet such as its sign, nakshatra, house, planetary aspects, yogas it participates in, and its positions in the divisional charts among others. Through this workshop, we will learn in greater depth why the planets give the results that they do, and how this manifests in real life via a study of celebrity charts.

         The current mercury retrograde is from May 29th to June 22nd, with a 2-3 week shadow period on either side. People don't always give it enough importance because it takes 9 weeks without the shadow and up to 18 weeks with the shadow periods. Not all mercury retrogrades have the same power. It depends on the astrological climate that is happening during the time. Retrogrades that occur at the same time of eclipses always have a lot more power, and capacity to cause bigger issues.

     Traditionally mercury when retrograding will cause misunderstandings in communications, ensure trouble later when you sign a contract or begin a new venture, or cause delays in things working out as expected. It is not a good time for buying electronics, or other purchases related to communications.  Things get lost or delayed in the mail more often, and people have different expectations when signing contracts. For example, terms were unclear, not addressed in writing or not discussed at all, and assumptions made without asking specific questions.

​      Retrogrades are best for revising and revisiting things from the past rather than starting anything new. Oral and written communication when published during a retrograde often has to be edited again, and sent out in revised form. It is not auspicious to start a new job or launch a business on Mercury retrograde.

       What has been your experience with mercury retrograde?

       ​The next president of the United States will be Joe Biden. While polling has not always been accurate in previous elections, there are reliable indicators one can look to in the heavens to predict the winner. Let's look at the western and vedic charts for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump, along with the transits on November 3rd 2020, the day of the election. I have picked a city from New York for convenience as the location for the election chart, though the location is not relevant for the timing. Almost all states close the polls by midnight eastern time on Nov 3rd and that is why the time was set for 11:59pm on the election day chart. There are some conflicting birth times for Trump, however I agree with the 9:51am time as it is a better fit than the 10:54am time on his birth certificate in terms of his other significant life experiences (marriage, the birth of his kids, parents' death, the start of his TV show for example).

     For changes in career and public standing, the 10th house needs to be examined. Starting with Biden's western chart, we see the MC degree is 19 virgo, the 10th ruler mercury is at 21 scorpio, and the 10th dispositor is pluto at 7 leo. Transiting uranus which is symbolic of dramatic changes that forever alter one's life, and are sometimes out of the blue, shocking, unexpected and revolutionary is currently at 8 taurus and today (Oct 31st) there is a blue moon (second full moon in a calendar month) occurring exactly at 8 taurus, supercharging the degree.  It’s associated with revelations, aha moments and secrets coming out into the open. Sometimes things can be done a certain way for years and then all of a sudden people can’t stand to do it that way anymore. Or sometimes you feel trapped or held down by your circumstances and Uranus gives the courage to break free and start fresh. Tr. Uranus is widely opposing mercury, widely trining the MC, and making a 1 degree square to pluto. Biden's moon is at 0 taurus so Uranus is making a wide conjunction to it and this blue moon activates it too. Though Uranus will bring unexpected significant changes to anyone's life when activating key chart indicators, it is pronounced in Biden as natally uranus is making many important aspects. For example, it makes an exact opposition to his ascendant, is square the nodes (points of fate) by 3 degrees, opposes the sun by 5 degrees, opposes venus by 4 degrees, and conjuncts saturn by 7 degrees. On May 26th 2021, there is an eclipse at 5 sagittarius which opposes his natal uranus by 3 degrees, so the energy of his uranus is being activated in multiple ways. The transiting uranus brings the fruits of his natal karma at this moment in time.

      Transiting neptune at 18 degrees pisces is making a close opposition to the MC and conjunction to the IC and given that neptune is in the 10th natally, the energy is much enhanced. His presidency will elevate the underdog; he will give a voice to people who have been discriminated against and silenced.  I think he will become known for bringing empathy and compassion back into the White House. Recently he has pledged to reunite children with their parents who were separated at the U. S. - Mexico border. With Kamala as VP, I have a feeling that race relations will become a priority. People will become more aware of how devastating white privilege combined with unconscious and implicit racial bias really is for minorities and how severely it holds back the country from progressing in every arena.
  
​      The eclipse that happened on July 5th 2020 at 13 capricorn was opposing his natal vertex at 17 cancer, a major point of destiny. The vertex gets activated at times when you meet your destiny, regardless of how hard you try, this is a force that is impossible to avoid. The eclipse that happened on January 10th 2020 at 20 cancer activates his natal exalted Jupiter at 25 cancer and vertex. This will be triggered in January 2021 when Biden gets sworn into office. Inauguration Day occurs every four years on January 20th or 21st if the 20th is a Sunday.

     Uranus makes an exact conjunction to his descendant which gives a tendency to select partners who are very different from him and that people wouldn't necessarily expect him to be with. I think this relates to his pioneering nature when it came to selecting a visible minority woman as a VP, something that has never happened in history. Interestingly, Kamala selected pioneer as her secret service code name. It could also relate to him being a VP to Barack Obama who was also a pioneer as the United States first Black president. Another way he breaks the mould is that he will be the oldest man to assume office, at 78 years old. The moon is exalted which is excellent for popularity and making other people feel comforted and secure. It is at 0 degrees taurus and planets at 0 degrees give the purest energy of the sign they are in. Mercury is at critical degree 21 scorpio which denotes a very bright and articulate man with excellent communication skills. He thinks three steps ahead and anticipates the opponent's possible reactions to his moves, and that is why he wins in the end. Mars is strong in its own sign scorpio giving a warrior nature. The sun and venus so close to the ascendant give him the ability to thrive in the spotlight and present a charming and sophisticated, yet strong and capable demeanour. The scorpio stellium  along with mars square pluto give a gritty strength and lasting endurance. It can be observed that still waters run deep. There is a lot of determination and fight within him, with immense resilience, ambition and persistence. Because it falls in the 12th house, people may not always give him the credit he is due and may underestimate his talents and abilities. I have heard people comment that his mental sharpness is going down (maybe due to his age and stereotypes about the elderly) but this is not at all true. Mars conjunct the 12th house cusp denotes secret enemies (in contrast to the 7th house which is open enemies). Saturn in the 7th gives plenty of open enemies as well!

       Turning to the vedic chart, Biden is currently in the dasha jupiter-rahu until September 2022. Natally, Jupiter is very close to being at it's exact degree of exaltation (5 degrees cancer) so this is a huge blessing, and denotes an ability to always have protection when it's needed the most. This Jupiter gives a generous, charitable and benevolent disposition. Running the mahadasha of jupiter will bring him the pinnacle of his career. Transiting saturn and jupiter will be making a double transit (when they both aspect the same sign) on capricorn as of November 20th 2020 and will still be there by the time he is sworn into office. They will both be closing opposing his natal jupiter at the time of election. From the chandra lagna (moon as rising sign), capricorn is the 10th house of career so the double transit brings a career enhancing opportunity. His natal saturn is being activated by the eclipse on November 8th by just 1 degree and this is significant as saturn rules the 10th house from chandra lagna. Saturn is also the 4th house from the ascendant, so it reflects a change in his residence to the white house. The ruler of his vedic chart is mars. The transiting sun on Nov 3rd is making an exact conjunction to his mars, throwing him into the spotlight. This full moon happening today is closely making an opposition to his mars too.

     Interestingly, Barack Obama's natal ascendant- descendant  (asc-dsc) axis is 17 aquarius-17 leo, Trump's natal asc-dsc is 17 leo-17 aquarius, George Bush's natal asc-dsc is 7 leo- 7 aquarius, his father George H. W. Bush's natal asc-dsc is 26 leo- 26 aquarius, Clinton's converse secondary progressed (CSP) asc-dsc was 25 leo-25 aqu when he was first elected to office and Biden's secondary progressed (SP) asc-dsc currently is 22 aqu-22 leo. I believe that the president of a country is representative of the collective consciousness of that country at that time and that is why there are these similarities. In studying the president’s charts, I discovered there are several themes that tie these men from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, philosophies and belief systems together. 
    
     Moving to Trump's western 10th house indicators, we see his MC at 8 taurus, 10th house ruler venus at 25 cancer and the 10th house dispositor moon at 20 degrees sagittarius. Transiting uranus and this blue moon today fall exactly on his MC. For him this will manifest in the form of a tremendous loss of status as he wanted a second term just like all the U. S. presidents have been having since 1992. Transits are reflective of the individual's psychological state and the energy dominating at various time points in their life cycle. Transiting uranus on the election chart at 8 degrees 32 minutes taurus is literally 1 minute applying to Trump's MC at 8 degrees 31 minutes taurus! I believe this is compelling evidence of the 9:51am birth time. Characteristic of uranus bringing the unexpected, the loss will come as a big surprise to him. During his television debates and personal appearances on the campaign trail, I can tell he feels genuinely confident that he will win. This is despite him being aware that the early voting polls show he is trailing Biden by increasing margins in the electoral college votes needed to win in the key swing states. Trump had only won in 2016 because of the electoral college in those states, losing the popular vote by 3 million.  The double transit of jupiter and saturn are closely opposing his venus and transiting pluto is giving venus a tight opposition which is signalling a change in his professional status and is indicative of him pursuing other business opportunities.
   
      Transiting Uranus squares his pluto and as pluto is the ruler of his 4th house; this is indicative of him moving out of the White House (4th represents home). Pluto is symbolic of power and this represents the sudden loss of power he will soon have to deal with. With pluto in the 12th house this will bring him grief, sadness and a sense of isolation. Transiting north node will conjunct his sun as the chart ruler (leo is the ascendant) and this will push him to find ways he can re-invent himself as he re-enters the business world and seeks to gain back the popularity he had as a business man and TV show host.
     
     Uranus is always prominent in the charts of presidents as they are in charge of the future of a particular country for a given time period and they have strongly developed vision—for better or for worse. In Trump’s chart, the overall chart shape is a bowl with lead planet Uranus at 17 degrees Gemini in the 11th house. Uranus is conjunct the sun and the north node, opposing the moon and making an exact sextile to the ascendant. Critical degrees are points of added power within a sign and in this case accentuate the intellectual prowess, persuasive communication skills and sharp wit of Gemini. Uranus is accidentally dignified in the 11th house, it therefore functions very strongly, being able to think outside the box and see future oriented potentials. In my opinion, his Uranus was put to very good use in the business sphere where he was a trailblazer in many respects. He was an excellent business man but as a political leader, he lacked empathy. He pushed forward unusual, eccentric and imbalanced ideas and policies which hurt many people.
  
      Looking at the vedic chart, the transiting nodes are within a degree of his sun-moon opposition. This is a turning point for him, both professionally and personally, as the nodes bring highly fated events to pass (he was born with the sun-moon opposition closely conjunct the nodes). He has a kala sarpa yoga which means that all 7 planets are between the nodes. This gives less free will than average to a person as more of their life events are dictated by past karma. When the person experiences a nodal return (which Trump is now having) it will often signal a fall from grace which is a result of negative karma from past lives.  With this yoga, sometimes the nodal return will bring a huge boost to social status but more often it seems to bring a reversal of fortune. It can also bring a blessing disguised as a curse or vice versa. I find that the moon conjunct the nodal axis aspected by one or more malefics (mars throws its forward square onto the moon-ketu) brings a tendency toward mental  instability throughout life but is triggered more seriously when the nodes transit the moon (as they are currently for Trump). On the evening of the election day, the transiting moon will be in taurus closely conjunct his sun and opposing his moon. Fortunately, he was born on poornima, the brightest phase of the waxing full moon and has no dagdha (burnt) rashis. These rashis and their corresponding houses would otherwise suffer by being burnt. The bright moon balances out the fact that the moon is in its fall in scorpio. Poornima is the luckiest phase of the moon to be born under, it bestows fame, wealth and high position.
   
      Not much happens without the effects of the eclipses activating a particular planet or house that is relevant to the area of life where major change happens. In 2016-2017 the eclipses ran along Trump’s natal asc-dsc axis thrusting him into the spotlight. For instance, on February 10th 2017 there was an eclipse at 22 leo, just 5 degrees away from his ascendant. There is a total solar eclipse on Dec 14th 2020 at 23 sagittarius and this is closely conjunct Trump’s moon and it makes a close opposition to his sun, it also runs along the nodal axis. Total lunar or solar eclipses have more power than partial eclipses. Eclipses are sometimes felt immediately during the week of the eclipse but sometimes they are felt a month or two before or after the date, sometime that year, and sometimes they get triggered by the transiting planets for up to 5 years after they occur (depends on the strength of the eclipse and how prominently in features in your chart). They can also be reflective of events that happen one calendar year before it. There is a solar eclipse on June 10th 2021 which falls at 19 gemini activating this configuration and his natal Uranus, and the same applies for the eclipse that happened on June 5th 2020 which was at 15 sagittarius. The eclipse that happened on January 10th 2020 was at 20 cancer and this activated his venus and saturn, both connected with the 10th house. This will be triggered around the time he leaves the White House in January 2021 when Biden is inaugurated. Trump is most definitely having to deal with the effects of his past karma for the next year, in which he will feel very little control over his life, and will be watching events happen that he doesn’t want to happen. This is a very fixed karma that is nearly impossible to change in terms of the external sequencing of events. But his emotional reactions and trying to cultivate an attitude of equanimity and grace will go a long way in terms of balancing this out and making things better for future lifetimes.
    
     Trump was elected in November 2016 in rahu-mars, his last sub period of the rahu mahadasha. Mars is a very good planet for him. Jupiter is also a good planet for Trump and in July 2017, shortly after being sworn into office, he entered his Jupiter mahadasha. Jupiter was stationary when he was born and stationary planets become very powerful and auspicious. However, he is now in Jupiter-saturn and saturn is the weakest planet in his chart. You may refer to the figures below for information on the strength and auspiciousness of all the planets. Mars and jupiter have good overall scores. Saturn is the ava yogi, which is the planet that obstructs prosperity. It has the lowest vimshopaka score of all the planets at 5.3. Saturn has .74 in shad bala which is again the lowest score of all his planets. You can see looking at the auspiciousness graph, dominance graph and the vargavimshopaka chart that it is in the worst overall position of all the planets. In the vedasthana, saturn is in the second worst position. Biden is in Jupiter-rahu, we can’t measure the auspiciousness of rahu or ketu, though his Jupiter is one of his best planets on several of these measures. Rahu is his yogi planet (planet promoting prosperity).

        Congratulations goes to Joe Biden as his hard work, determination, intelligence and strength is finally being rewarded. I am sure he will make a difference in many lives and use his powerful vision to guide the country to prosperity. 

      The composite chart is the midpoint of your planets and angles with another person. For example, if your sun is at 25 degrees gemini and your partner's sun is at 25 degrees cancer, the composite chart sun would be at 10 degrees cancer. This is because there is a 30 degree separation between the suns, so you must divide this in two to get 15 degrees, and then you add 15 degrees to the sun which is earlier in the zodiac, 25 degrees gemini. The result is 10 degrees cancer. Fortunately, there is software to calculate the composite chart, and you may create a free chart on www.astro.com. We think of the composite chart as useful for learning about the karma, strengths, weaknesses, personality and overall flavour of a relationship. This is the energy projected onto the world by the couple, and how they are viewed in society when they are together.

     You can compare your natal planets and angles to the planets and angles of the composite to see how the relationship affects you. For instance, if your natal north and south nodes are the same as the composite's ascendant- descendant axis, this relationship will have a profound impact on you, and feel very fated, regardless of how long you stay together. If your moon is conjunct the IC of the composite, you will feel naturally at home with the person and may feel you get into deep conversations, sharing things you normally don't share with others so quickly, or at all. The relationship has an unusual comfort that develops at a fast pace, and you can find yourself pouring out your soul to this person.

​     We can see one-sided relationships through the composite, when one person's natal chart is highly activated and the other person's is not. For instance, if my natal sun-moon opposition falls close to the asc-dsc axis or MC-IC axis of the relationship chart, it will play an important role in my self-concept and self-development. I may have a high attachment to the relationship. For the relationship to be a long term, mutually engaging one, both people's natal charts must be activated by the composite. The synastry chart must be studied along with composite to get a comprehensive analysis.

     I find that the composite is an invaluable tool for gaining insight into the themes and trends affecting a relationship at any given time period so I use it in my predictive readings. The transiting planets and eclipses affect a composite chart in the same way they affect a natal chart. The retrograde and direct motion of outer planets are relevant in the timing of energetic shifts. To help you to see how this operates, I will use an example of a couple who briefly dated. From the woman's perspective, she had met a man in the past few weeks whom she connected with immediately; she was thinking about him often and was able to share her innermost feelings. They spent hours talking on the phone every night and when they met in person it would be sweet and romantic. It felt to her that it was just the two of them regardless of how many people were there. He said the right things at the right times and she felt special with him. 

     Looking at their composite, the asc-dsc axis at 17 virgo-17 pisces was just one degree away from her sun-moon midpoint at 18 degrees virgo and was closely conjunct her solar arc directed asc-dsc axis. This is significant as it shows the degree of investment and hopes projected onto the relationship, at least from the woman's side. I could see the intensity of connection she felt in quite a few ways. To name some of the most important:

1. the composite vertex was 8 degrees away from the composite descendant,
2. his converse progressed asc-dsc axis was 4 degrees away from the composite asc-dsc axis,
3. his converse progressed vertex was exactly conjunct the composite vertex,
4. the composite nodes were 8 degrees from the composite asc-dsc axis,
5.his natal nodes were just 4 degrees away from the composite asc-dsc axis,
6.his progressed vertex made an exact conjunction to her natal sun,
7.the composite moon was 3 degrees away from the composite IC,
8. both of their natal moons were conjunct the composite chart IC, hers by 3 degrees and his by 8 degrees. Her converse progressed vertex made a one degree conjunction to the composite IC.
9. his secondary progressed venus was just 1 degree away from the composite asc-dsc axis, and was just 2 degrees away from her natal sun-moon midpoint.
10. his secondary progressed asc-dsc was 3 degrees away from her natal IC-MC and his secondary progressed MC-IC was just 2 degrees away from her natal asc-dsc axis.
11. his solar arc directed venus made an exact conjunction to her secondary progressed ascendant
12. her natal nodes were conjunct his natal asc-dsc axis by 8 degrees

    Intensity and excitement do not necessarily translate into longevity and I wasn't  optimistic regarding the long term potential. Looking at the aspects, it would be fair to conclude that they had a strong genuine mutual attraction with the potential for great emotional depth. At the same time, it was not real love nor the type of enduring karmic bond you would see in couples who marry or stay together for a long period. The main issues were caused by hard aspects to neptune. Neptune was of greater significance to her because her natal neptune made an exact conjunction to her natal vertex and squared her natal nodes by just 1 degree. Hard neptune aspects cause unrealistic expectations, putting the other on a pedestal, and being disappointed when the partner can't live up to those expectations. It can also cause people to be less than honest, vague, sometimes deliberately lying, confusing and gaslighting the other for their own purposes. With hard neptune aspects, we ignore red flags despite the advice of those closest to us. We can go to great lengths to justify what should not be justified, and to accept treatment we would not put up with from other people. We hope in vain the other person will change when there is no reasonable basis for it. We ignore objective information about their past and present to arrive at the conclusions we desire.

These are some of the most problematic neptune aspects:

1. There was an opposition between venus and neptune (I call this the heartbreak aspect) in the composite. Her progressed venus was opposed to their natal neptune, his natal venus made a quincunx (minor hard aspect) to their natal neptune and his converse progressed venus was oppose their natal neptune, all within 2-3 degrees. Her converse progressed venus was square their natal neptunes (widely).
2. Though the composite showed a trine between mercury and neptune, her secondary progressed neptune made an exact opposition to his natal neptune and his natal mercury squared her natal neptune which made miscommunication and both concious and unconscious deceit prominent. They both heard what they want to hear from the other.
3. His solar arc directed moon made a one degree conjunction to her natal neptune. This is a highly idealistic and sensitive aspect. At the same time, people try to shape the relationship into something it can't be and get disappointed when the other's human flaws become more apparent.
4. Her natal mars was opposite his natal neptune. His mars (which was his 7th house ruler) squared his own and her natal neptune. His neptune squared his asc-dsc axis. Because of his natal aspects, he had a strong natural tendency to see partners not as who they were but who he wanted them to be. This would stay with him all his life and affect all his partners.

    In addition to this, looking at the chart for the day they had their first date, transiting venus, sun, and mars were widely square their natal neptune and the asc-dsc axis of the first date chart. The transiting moon, saturn, north node and pluto were widely conjunct their natal neptune. The ascendant of the first date chart was 15 degrees capricorn, meaning that it made a conjunction to their natal neptune and had transiting saturn, north node and pluto within 5 degrees of the ascendant.

     There was good reason to believe that her feelings would abruptly change with the direct motion of neptune, when the rose colored glasses came off. This was set to happen about 7 weeks from the date they met. 

     Transiting neptune on the day they met was at 16 degrees pisces and it was retrograde. For saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto, we can feel the energetic shift for a week before they go direct and before they go retrograde. Six days before neptune turned direct, she had a change of heart and informed him she didn't see a future for them romantically. There was an eclipse at 4 degrees capricorn that made a conjunction to both of their natal neptunes at 7 degrees capricorn. This eclipse occurred a month after she broke up with him. ​Keep in mind each person must have their own personal transits signalling a break up, the transiting neptune and the eclipse are just a few triggers.

​    Eclipses can have their effects retroactively for up to a year or can be triggered by transits for up to 5 years after they occur (depending on the power of that particular eclipse). The eclipse can show its effects around the actual day/week of the eclipse, or perhaps the preceeding or following month, if this is so it does not need a planetary transit for its effects. This is in contrast to new and full moons in which the strongest effects are always felt within the month, if it does activate an important point in your chart. The new and full moons always fall in a house where its possible you feel some effect but you may not notice anything significant unless it makes a hard aspect (including a conjunction) to a planet, angle, vertex or node.

     As relayed to me, it was a shock to him. She felt she was being fair because a few weeks prior, she clearly communicated the issues she saw in the relationship, along with suggestions on how to make things better. He listened and said he would try to change the behaviour that most upset her, and then never made any effort to change. She was willing to adjust her expectations but he was not meeting her halfway. The fact that he did not try at all was the last straw, because this showed he didn't value her. His sun and south node fell in her natal 2nd house, and his converse progressed mercury right on the cusp of her natal 2nd house, so he had a greater effect on her sense of self-worth than usual. She kept in touch with him for a couple months after that via phone and text, to see whether they may function better as friends. It was difficult because she felt he wasn't making an effort to stay in touch with her and was distant during their conversations, despite verbally saying he wanted to stay friends.
